Brought our friends back again this month as they've always enjoyed their nights out here over the last five or six years. Lovely home cooked food, starters, chicken wings and leek soup were really tasty. Mains, cottage pie and lamb pies were fabulous, sea food platter great value and I had salmon which was a great sized portion and beautifully cooked. Dodie, Neen and staff as always were very attentive and we had a great night. Thank you very much and see you all soon!

What a fantastic place! We came at 7:30 pm just as the kitchen was closing, and the owner, Shaz, kindly let us come in. We had excellent wine and burgers, and loved the beautiful view of the ocean. Our dog had the best time of all, as he was offered a little piece of chicken and was honoured to have his photo taken for the wall of doggie pictures. Great food, lovely people, and relaxed vibe -- who could ask for anything more!

This place has a relaxed atmosphere with very good service at reasonable prices. It was warm enough to sit outside and take in the fabulous view as it is a little sun trap.
They have tray baked home made cakes that finish off a meal with coffee very well!!

Went for Sunday evening dinner and the roasts were available although the veg was minute portions and there were no green veg, having sold out of broccoli. The food was average at best with one meal sent back as undercooked. In the height of the season you could do better, unless you don’t care about your tourist trade and obviously rely on keeping your locals happy

A meal with family for my wife’s birthday, we originally booked a table inside when we arrived we had to sit outside! As the table we booked had been given to someone else! The food was awful the portion size even worse for the money. Steak and ale pie has to be the worst I’ve had the burger were not homemade they tasted like a frozen grill steak hunters chicken very poor!! The best thing about this place is the view. I didn’t complain at the time as my wife was upset with the standard you served us! You actually ruined her birthday!! I paid over £100 for the crap you served don’t forget the island is a small place. I will never return wish I took photos of the poor standard of food.

Ok, I replied very politely to your email you sent me during the week. Why am I not surprised to see you here!!
You really are not a very nice person. As I explained, the table you requested was given to a larger party, as is the norm, and you were given one of our most popular booths outside on a lovely sunny evening. My crew mentioned that was when they could do nothing to please you. As for the food, no complaints were received from you until you had left and I was sent your email.
You are most unwelcome to ever darken our doors again to eat our crap and I feel for any future restaurants you visit - god forbid you don't get the table you wanted!

I really didn’t want to give 2/5 but I was really disappointed with the menu, they have no allergies listed and a vegetarian/vegan section on the main menu, now that’s two totally different foods. I have to eat vegan for dietary reasons so asked about the burger, which the waitress checked in the kitchen and said it was ok and didn’t contain egg. When she brought it to me it was missing items that did contain egg. I still paid full price (which I don’t mind if I knew I would miss items with egg)
My daughter had macaroni cheese which again was in the v/v menu, she wasn’t keen on this so I said I’d help her out but thank goodness I checked as again contained eggs!!!
My husband had a pie but veg looked tinned, but was ok.
Well worth a trip up for the view and environment and drinks reasonably priced, but just be aware of menu issues.

I am baffled by your review!
The only thing missing from your burger meal was the slaw (as mayo contains egg!). Our mac cheese is vegetarian but not suitable for vegans as pasta contains egg!
I can promise you that all our veggies are delivered fresh every morning from our local grocer! We do not serve any of our veg from tins. Again, very confused!

Visited for a meal while on holiday as we wanted to go somewhere unique to dine. The restaurant was quirky with lovely sea views however the food not great. I had the lasagne which was dry and tasteless and my daughter ordered soup which was dished up with sliced bread. Overall expecting a bit better for the price!

So sorry you didn't enjoy our food. Please always let us know at the table - we can then rectify. Our soup is always served with a toasted baguette and the lasagne is hand-made by our chef. I will have a word with him to check the flavour.

We discovered this lovely Bistro style restaurant on the cliff top during this years holiday. What an excellent location with superb views across the bay. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and attentive to make sure the evening was enjoyable. The menu was a bit limited but still plenty of options to choose from and enhanced by a number of daily specials. Service was prompt and the food plentiful and good quality. Would certainly come again. Need to book to ensure getting a table.

We had booked a table which is recommended. I must say I sat facing the window with incredible views out to sea. The food was served hot and good size portions. I had the the Sunday lunch,the roast potatoes and stuffing would of been better if not almost cremated to a crisp. The beef I have had better,the other meals were ok. My daughter ordered a chocolate chip ice cream, they sent out something completely different as they had run out. She was not asked if that was OK just presumed it was. When it got to our table it looked like it had been sat near a heat source as the top was a layer of mush.
We were disappointed with the hole experience after seeing such good reviews.

It was chocolate ice cream but as it is so hot at the moment it does have a tendency to melt a bit before we can get it to the table! Please try us again and we can do better!

Cute , out of the way cafe,restaurant, bar.
Great views of the coast line.
Very windy and wet on our visit but still enjoyed it.
The 2 waitresses were very pleasant, one of the ladies is doing a sponsored wing walk which I sponsored her for, ( good luck in April for that)
The food was homemade, ( beef chilli) and homemade cake and custard ( apple and apricot)
Very much 100% appreciated.
Will try and come back in April to see sponsored wing walk, if we can't make it we will definitely be back in the future xxx

A lovely little find with fantastic views. We called late on a Friday afternoon and was lucky enough to book the last table.
We were greeted very warmly and shown to a table outside. Decor is comfy and homely. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced - belly pork to die for!
Very much recommended and we look forward to visiting again when next back on the island.

Considering there are signposts directing you to this place on the coastal path & it is recommended in the welcome booklet of local accommodation, they don’t seem to like customers very much! We walked in and were ignored so found a table of our own, waited a few minutes before a server came & just asked “what can I get you?” no hello, welcome nothing. I ordered a pimms which was disgusting- no fruit in it at all, how they can charge £7.50 is beyond me. My sandwich was horrible, made on the cheapest white bread & the cucumber was a strange colour, the coleslaw it came with was warm- not just not cold but like it had been in the mircowave and the salad was limp & slimy. The absolute worst bit about it all is that they charged £9.50 for a cheese & ham panini!! Total rip off and could have made better myself at home.

Pimms is served, always with fruit, in a huge glass. Salad, bread etc delivered from our local suppliers every day. £9.50 includes salad, slaw and crisps with the sandwich. If you had mentioned your issues at the time we could have reassured you.
It's reviews like this that are so damaging to small businesses. Again, thanks for taking the time to destroy my tiny teams' morale after a very difficult season.

The location and views are superb, perched on the cliff top, access by walking along cliff top path or park just behind. Rustic and family run, inside and outside seating. Varied menu, fresh home cooked food , served by friendly attentive staff. The best place we found during our week on the Island , started and ended with a family meal. Just perfect.

We came here for dinner on a trip to the Isle of Wight with 4 adults and 4 children. What a lovely, lovely place! The view is amazing! The staff were so friendly, very accommodating to our children and served us delicious food and drinks whilst we took in the amazing view! Its off the main road so make sure you go searching for it as its well worth a visit!

We eaten here on previous IOW holidays but this time was underwhelming. The main complaint was that for a lunchtime menu, quite snacky in design and therefore good, there were no desserts other than some dried up looking cakes. Not even ice cream.

We are very sorry to hear that you were underwhelmed on your visit. We don't have a full dessert menu at lunchtime (except Sundays) as there wasn't much call for it. However, there is a choice of 4 flavours of ice cream, cakes (bought in freshly every day!) and chocolate snack bars. Apologies if you were not offered any of them.
