Went for a quick drink after going to the escape rooms. Staff ever so friendly, nice selection of drinks, and we had a lovely cheese board to share. Relaxed modern surroundings, good for couples and friends.

As well as the café Flat White now have a marvellous restaurant round the corner where you can enjoy delicious meals from various cooked meals etc. The only drawback is you have to time it right for the numerous queues etc. but well worth it.

The selection of sandwiches and cakes etc. was good if a little expensive, however, the pieces of cake were big enough to share and the sandwiches I saw looked similar so my first impression may have changed. The latte was fine but in a small teacup rather than the usual glass. service was good and the staff were pleasant. I... More

Lovely little coffee shop in the heart of Durham. Cool interiors, lots of industrial going on. I had the scrambled eggs for breakfast with toast (which was delicious) and a creamy latte to top it off. Nice surroundings, staff seem friendly. I'm looking forward to going back very soon!

Got to agree with some of the reviews on here that this place is a little bit of style over substance. Students seem to love it and the place has queues out of the door at the minute but for me the food wasn't any better than other offers in the area. The service was slow at times and the... More

The signage for this cafe was really appealing and we walked through an arch behind the main street into the cafe. There were loads of people sitting at the tables outside and the cafe itself was busy but there was a table straight away. My mum was disappointed that it was counter service not table, but I was fine about... More

Great, healthy (mostly!) food with plenty of gluten-free options and good hot and cold drinks - my favourites being their signature flat white and also London Fog tea. It's a bit of a victim of its own success and is usually very busy - expect to queue outside for up to twenty minutes or so at weekends! But well worth... More

Negatives always come first. The food and drink here is EXTREMELY overpriced. But thats my only negative. Apart from it being expensive, it all tastes beautiful. Every time I pass theres always a queue a mile long. Id go back, but i'd have to save for a month or two. I exaggerate, but £30+ for two coffees and two salads... More

I had seen via facebook this cafe so decided with my partner to give it a try. We ended up at the small cafe where they advised that the restaurant was around the corner and we would need to wait, but assured us that it would be no more than 10 minutes... we went and waited in the queue- 45... Description
Located on Saddler Street, just seconds away from Durham Cathedral, is Flat White Durham's latest venture: Flat White Kitchen. The five-story 16th century property has been restored back to its original splendour and is a meld of stripped-wood, copper pipes and bare brick alongside opulent French mirrors and fresh flowers. The coffee offering showcases the owners' talents, who opened their first cafe after working alongside some of Australia's greatest roasters. Five years on, the two are still regulars on the coffee machine, passing on their talents to only a select few who make the cut. The food offering from Flat White Kitchen is equally as perfected as the coffee. A strong, kitchen team has been hand selected from the finest northern restaurants to ensure that the menu is as strong as the reputation.
