We visited on Saturday night as 2 couples, it was the first visit to Oscars for all of us and we were not disappointed. We were spoilt for choice with the menu and the special' s board making it difficult to decide. I opted for the scallop and smoked haddock scotch egg and the slider burgers with aspen fries. The... We went for a meal on Saturday night ( 2 couples) and couldnt find a single fault. It was all totally delicious, service from the waiter Jamie was excellent and he was very knowledgeable. The menu was really varied, with classics on it and more unusual dishes . The wine was lovely too :) We would definitely go back .

Unfortunately we have always found Oscars a bit hit and miss, for this reason we haven't been for a while but decided to try again. It is a delightful building and the restaurant is smart and attractive. I do not like the change in uniform of the waiters to jeggings with braces. Pleasant greeting and shown straight to our table... More

Staying in the hotel and being impressed by this wonderful building and our lovely suite we were looking forward to eating at Oscars. The restaurant is beautifully set out and is clean and welcoming. We were shown to a table in the conservatory which suited us as it was away from the busier part of the restaurant. We had booked... More

Have been a bit of a fan lately of the Abbey House Hotel, 15 min walk from home (saves the taxi) & for special treats, this one our 41st wedding anniversary. Arrived Saturday 8th April, wedding Party, fine, thats what they do. We were taken to the "conservatory", even better, nice views over the gardens towards Furness Abbey, just out... More

My other half took me to Oscar's for my birthday so we decided to splash out a bit on the steaks. Both steaks (mine was fillet, his was ribeye) were cooked exactly as we'd requested and were served with a generous portion of chips and peppercorn sauce. The wine was perfect as well - my white was well chilled and... More
