Best 'old' pub in the Lakes. Full of atmosphere and charm. As usual it's so popular that you may have to stand a while before someone moves and you can get a seat. Once seated indulge in a meal. Good hearty pub grub will fill...More

Investing wisely in the lovers of Gin. Well worth the visit, drink posh in traditional surroundings... OK it my favourite pub, but its now catering for more than just purveyors of fine Ales.

My favourite pub in Bowness. Charming and authentic! A proper English pub with a good selection of real ales, good food and roaring fire.

Visited twice during our stay in Windermere and loved the old building and it's quirky decor and beautiful stained window in the back room. Staff were always pleasant and the quality of the food and service was excellent. Great value for money.

Lovely friendly pub tucked away in Bowness town centre, plenty of beer choices and the fire was roaring away ... nice and busy for a Saturday lunchtime ... we ordered pork pie and scratchings nibbles which was really delicious .... will definitely return

Very quaint old pub. Staff lovely and they serve Gordon's pink gin, so definitely a winner for me. Food lovely, though kitchen closes pretty early, which is disappointing. However still a great wee pub
