On recommendation we had a meal in The gloucester during our last visit Weymouth in July. The food was amazing. This time we both had the half rotisserie chicken. Very filling, we both enjoyed it though perhaps a little dry. That said, we'll be back.

The food was good, chips disappointing, cutlery appalling, would have been better off with plastic.. cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I watched, 3 tables , only one cleaned before the next people sat down. In fact our table was sticky and you could...see glass marks, there was a cleaning station in the corner, so I cleaned ours myself. Nice staff.More

Staff very helpful , food was very good and reasonably priced . All hot and correct . A member of staff assisted with my elderly parents leaving a easier route rather than using the steps .

Had the Chicken and Ribs....... what a great meal, didn't know what to expect but was very happy with it. Me and my son were stuffed by the end of it. Staff were very polite too.

The food was so lovely. Went for double birthday celebration. The Gloucester could easily be a 4 or 5 star but only with staff who have manners. The waitresses who served us were rude, they asked if we had finished when it was obvious that...we hadn’t! Then returned a short time later and said ‘have you finished now?’ Extremely rude, inability to speak to people as human beings or indeed thinking that they were far better than the customers! So unfortunately even though food was lovely, we may avoid it due to staff!More

Typical relaxed pub, with sports and ordering at the bar. The food was really good but worth booking as it gets busy.

I was unhappy about my visit to The Gloucester, had a very disappointing experience, some blonde young lady who had brought over the food had obviously just gone out for a ‘break’ and had come back smelling like cigarettes. This had definitely put me off...my food, if it wasn’t for that, might have been a better experience.More

From the outside this looks nice and inviting with prices suggesting it would be good quality food. How wrong we were ! We were not told there would be a 50 minute wait and the food would of been better had it come from Mac...Donald’s. the burger bun fell apart it was so try and for what we paid would have expected a gourmet burger The rotisserie chicken did not appear to be cooked enough and was tasteless.More

We fancied a steak and thought we would try The Gloucester. We were not disappointed. Cheese garlic bread was a fab starter. Followed by our mains, one ribeye and one sirloin and we asked for half a pork belly rib to be added to both....The plates were huge and the food was perfect for us, if a little too much for us to finish. Can't recommend the Gloucester highly enough.More

I have visited The Gloucester a couple of times since my first post. There is disabled access from the rear car park. The Sunday carvery is one of the best in the area with the regular serving being enormous! Large and... More
