Very busy with a coach party in. Staff were hard working and friendly. Fairly priced pub grub with a few specials on.

I was given a very warm reception by both staff & the regulars. A very clean & tidy establishment with a good choice of Cumbrian ales served with a homely feel. The food was exceptional, and a fantastic choice to choose from off the menu. I can recommend the chicken with roasted garlic & the cheeseboard. The Royal Oak is... More

Called in for a bite to eat and drink. Very clean and comfortable room, nice decor. I think it was the tap room as we had two dogs. We were made welcome. Friendly efficient service. Chose snack meals; fish goujons, hot beef gravy sandwich and cheesy chips. Drank John Smiths. Delicious, quality, homemade food. Refreshing drinks. They even have a... More

Really, that's all you need to know! Haha. The lasagne is homemade and the best I have ever had. Lovely atmosphere in the pub and it was beautifully clean. Did I mention the lasagne?

I had looked at good and bad reviews for this pub but thought let's give it a try. Found staff to be friendly and welcoming and interior lovely. Called on a Saturday lunch time and wasn't disappointed. We had hot roast beef sandwich on a lovely soft bap with homemade chips, lasagne and scampi & chips. We all enjoyed our... More
