we had tried a few times in the past to book for Sunday lunch without success due to the pubs popularity. We have enjoyed a mid week sandwich there and were very impressed. AS we expected the restaurant and main bar were extremely busy and we were shown to a table in the main restaurant area although we would have... More

This is my favourite pub to go to when visiting Dyrham park. Been several times now and each time has been enjoyable. The last time we went we were seated next to the fire which was very cosy. The staff seemed genuinely friendly and keen to please. The food was good quality and fairly priced. To find a nice country... More

We've been meaning to visit this pub/restaurant for some time and eventually visited at lunchtime today. Well I was certainly worth the wait as it was excellent. Very welcoming, good choice, well presented and pleasant service. We both had the chicken brest in tarragon sauce followed by apple crumble, both of which were delicious. The faggots and mash also looked... More

Four of us enjoyed lunch at The Bull today. A good selection of starters and main courses enjoyed by all. Can particularly recommend the steak and mushroom pie with huge tasty chips. Will definitely visit again.

having been brought up in near by Dyrham (which I still call home 40 odd years after leaving)we ,with family often visit the area ,take in Dyrham Park and stroll around villages to stimulate body and soul, something it never fails to do ,both young and old, This last time we decided to visit our old stamping ground and scene... Booked a family Sunday lunch. The table was in one of the new side extensions to the old building but despite the beams and exposed stonework it still felt a bit like we had been stuck in the annexe as it was slightly underheated and lacking in ambience. The service was friendly from the Polish staff but seemed to take... More

A family Sunday lunch and despite the power cut lingering from the day before, The Bull was well prepared food-wise and had cobbled together an eclectic mix of candles to provide sufficient light! Excellent Beef and Lamb served without fuss or any noticeable delay. Good range of puddings for desert. The Wadworth Ales were also in perfect condition.

My wife and I visited The Bull twice before in the summer, but only for lunchtime sandwiches and drinks. Nevertheless, we were sufficiently impressed with the quality of food and the friendliness of the staff to suggest this as a venue for Sunday lunch when meeting up with an old friend. We were not disappointed. In fact I'd go as... More

We did not know what to do for Sunday lunch but wanted to go out, we looked at pubs close by and stumbled upon the Bull at Hinton. We rang and asked if they had any tables available, we were happy they said yes and made our way over. Inside was really cozy and very welcoming. The specials were on... More

Description
Where are we? Welcome to The Bull Inn in the peaceful village of Hinton. which lies only 20 minutes from the centres of both Bath and Bristol and less than 5 minutes away from Junction 18 of the M4. About The Bull This ancient stone built building dates back to the 17th century. In its time it has been an Inn, a farm and a dairy. Like all buildings of this age it also has it's fair share of ghosts. Be always on the lookout for the lady in grey! About the food We Love to serve Traditional British Pub food and we take great pride in making the dishes the best they can be and still great value for money! We also have a Specials board which changes weekly and can be a real treat! We believe that to achieve great food you only need to look on your doorstep. So with that in mind we have chosen where possible to source our ingredients from local suppliers who share the same passion for quality as we do. Where possible we use our home grown seasonal fruit, herbs and vegetables from our own allotment to the rear of the pub. Our friendly and cheeky gardener Rockie does an incredible job for us and keeps everything in order - if you have a spare minute pop round to have a look or a chat, if only to give him a chance for a breather. Our butchers are Barlett and Sons of Bath and Bristol Meat Trader, they both deal in locally sourced, succulent, farm assured meats ensuring their products are of the best quality. All of their meat is prepared using traditional butcher methods and they mature their beef for over 21 days to ensure we get the most tender and succulent steak possible. As well as providing lamb, pork and bacon they also manufacture their own sausages on the premises providing us with the best quality sausages in the area. Our Fishmonger Wing of St. Mawes(Cornwall) is a small family run company with over 30years experience. We source all our fish from mussels, cod, scallops, plaice, sole, prawns and lobsters from Wing daily. They care passionately about sustainable sourcing and deliver to us every night after the fish is caught in the morning. Our eggs are from our 18 lovely Hens which can be found to the rear of the pub, they are lovely characters and lay some exceptional eggs for our Ham, Egg and Chips! When we can't source produce from our garden we use A-DAVID of Bristol which has over 50 years experience. They care as passionately as us about the provenance and locality of produce and over the years has amassed a large number of local growers who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to what they do. We use Marshfield Farm ice cream which is truly amazing luxury ice cream and sorbet. They are just 5minutes up the road so you can't get more local than that. We love our little customers just as much as our fully grown ones! So with that in mind we have created a children's menu that is full of tasty dishes just like the main menu. If your child would like something that's not on the menu please just ask and we will do our very best to do it for you! How lucky we are to have such great local suppliers and producers to share with you. We hope you will think our efforts to source the best produce is worthwhile. About the beer As a Wadworth pub we serve all the usual brews, including 6X, Henry's and we always have a guest on which changes weekly. We also stock draught Heineken, Amstel, Thatchers Gold, Stowford Press and Corvus Stout. About the wine We have a substantial selection of wines by the glass. If you are uncertain of your choice please ask the bar staff for a sample taste. We also have a quality range of classical wines which are available by the bottle. Allergies Some foods & ingredients can cause an allergic reaction. If you suffer from a food allergy, please inform a member of staff.
