Plenty of space in this traditional, but renovated, pub. The food is traditional pub food, nicely cooked and enjoyable. We went early evening for dinned and it was very pleasant. Friendly and helpful staff. Goff range of lagers and beers. The real ales were ones I had come across before but maybe they have others in due course.

Food was very good but customer service was very poor. My friend who booked the table did feedback to them by on line questionnaire and did not recive a response. Very disappointing

This is a great place for a no frills pre-theatre meal as the Regent Centre is directly opposite. You need to book a table in the restaurant as it can get very busy. The menu contains a good selection of starters and main courses and the quality of the food is very good with service to match. If the restaurant... More

Came here this evening with my family for our first night in Christchurch for dinner and can honestly say that the food was fabulous. I had the pan fried turbot with squid ink risotto and it was really very good and I am a fussy eater Everyone else cleared their plates, which I always take as a clear indication of... More

not everything on the menu was available. one of our group is vegetarian they didn't have the veggie roast. the meals were good, i had coque oh van which lacked green vegetables. the fish my husband ordered was greasy. pudding also was a disappointment as there were not fruity hot deserts.

We went a second time to The Ship. It was good the first time, dog friendly and very enjoyable sitting in the rear garden in the sunshine with a glass of wine and a tasty meal. We'd taken the bus into town and it was nice to relax without worrying about driving. We went in by car the second time,... More

Visited as part of Christchurch food festival. Sadly staff seemed completely non pluses about customers, sitting in the back half or pub at three o'clock had a reserved sign slapped on the table while chatting with friends, no eye contact, no comment, just a waitress with far too much attitude! Not needed and def not a great welcome to the... More

We have visited the restaurant twice now and will definitely be returning. on both occasions the pub was quiet, not how I remember the Ship, however this suited us as we were there for a meal. The food is all freshly prepared and made from quality ingredients, yet prices are still very reasonable. We look forward to our next visit.
