We came here on the scond night of our visit to Fowey because the menu showed seafood curry which appealed, the food was so good that we came back again a couple of evenings later. The mussels were delicious, really tasty and loads of them, seafood curry fantastic, linguine just lovely and the pork belly is the best I have... More

The food was good although the chips were very dry and a bit boring. The restaurant could do with a bit of an overhaul to give it a better atmosphere. We would use the restaurant again.

My husband and I have passed this place many times but have been put off by the rather soulless interior. On Jan 1st though it was the only place open so we gave it a try. The restaurant is three small rooms which is obviously a difficult layout for the owners, it was sparsely decorated but lighting was good. The... More

Having seen the owners hilarious Youtube videos about Poldark (the proper version) which plug his famous 'Cakey Tea', we went there for the night for a wedding anniversary. The room was simple, very comfortable and well appointed - even had netflix on the tele. The Cakey Tea lived up to expectations but I would counsel against trying to eat all... More

We went here for Lunch to celebrate our daughters birthday after seeing that some of our own guests from our Holiday Cottages had recommended the Globe. We had a great lunch, excellent friendly service, great atmosphere and wonderful food. The fish and chips were great, the batter was superb, the roasted cod was excellent also. Would highly recommend.

I had high expectations about this place and went there with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The inside looks a little bit soulless. Which is fine, we were there for the food and not necessarily the decor. So here goes.... The food: Its mixed. For some stuff i'd give a 4.5, for others more like a 2. The... More

We had heard excellent reviews of The Globe from friends and whilst in Fowey decided to pop in for lunch; we certainly weren't disappointed. The hostess was delightful and we were warmly welcomed. Two of our party chose the twice baked cheese soufflé and it was delicious. My husband chose the BBQ chicken and declared that it was the best... More

My wife & I decided to go to the Galleon Inn in Fowey for our Sunday lunch, but whilst en-route we were drawn to the Globe by the lovely aroma spilling out onto the street, so we changed our plans by deciding to give the Globe a try, and we certainly made the right decision, as we had one of... Just arrived at this venue at 7pm on a Sunday evening for an evening meal, the restaurant is split in to two, to the right two tables were occupied whilst to the left of the restaurant it was empty although all tables were set and awaiting customers. We asked at the reception area for a table for two, the receptionist... More

Thank you so much for your review. I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to have such a measured response to my years of blood, sweat and tears, sleepless nights over paying wages and bills, 18 hour days 7 days a week, missing out on my kids growing up, and sinking my hard earned cash into this business... Description
Originally a Posting House where people could 'hire' horses and get 'victuals', The Globe has been in Fowey for around 400 years. It has had many guises over the years but has always been a place of hospitality. Since taking over the building in March this year, it has been our philosophy to produce fantastic food using the very best ingredients Cornwall has to offer along with the warmest Cornish hospitality.

Our Head Chef, Glynn Wellington, is Fowey born and bred, and proud to be Cornish and utilise the wonderful produce on our doorsteps. You may see him collecting the bread from Quay Bakery, just 50 yards away from the restaurant, or picking wild garlic in the fields around Fowey. Our meat comes from Kittows of Kilhallon just 3 miles away, and our mussels from beds about a mile away by sea. Our coffee is hand roasted here in Cornwall and our beers are all brewed in St Austell. Even our bubbly is Cornish from the award winning Camel Valley, near Bodmin.

Over the coming months we will be restoring the letting rooms upstairs to their former glory and then be able to offer the finest Cornish food, drink and hospitality, right here in the heart of Fowey.
