The nicest fish and chips I've had in a very long time the chips were delicious and the crispy skin on the cod was amazing! Such friendly nice accommodating staff great eating place for a quick bite or a main meal! I would highly recommend trying a meal here if you are visiting Great Yarmouth.

We popped in at a busy time and there was not a table for four but the staff created us one. When a better table then became free they happily moved us on to that one. We had great fish and chips, good value children's meals and excellent service. The staff were superb, polite, helpful and very professional. We will... More

We had spent a morning wandering along the beach with our 4 y/o when we spotted Harry Ramsden's. It was about 12 and we were the first people in there but it soon started filling up. Staff were very friendly, the prices reasonable and the food really good quality. Highly recommended.

We visited with my mother in law and can recommend the cod, the haddock and the burger - also the dessert menu. They have dandelion and burdock on the drinks menu which I love but cannot often get so that was also good. It was £65 for a starter, an alcoholic drink, 3 soft drinks, 3 mains and 3 desserts.... We went to this restaurant on a windy chilly night in December on our way to the children's carol concert at the Hippodrome. We were made welcome and advised of the warmest place to sit. Our order was taken and arrived in a short time. The fish and chips was really nice, crispy batter and not so much that you... More

The brand has a very good reputation so we decided to eat here. We were very disappointed as the fish was cooked very poorly. The batter was very thick and undercooked. The chips and mushy peas were ok. In comparison to other places where we have eaten it was also quite expensive. The service was good. We won't eat here... More

I went here and my partner tried the Harry Ramsden's Challenge. What a feat - the thing that made me really chuckle is he had a yorkshire pudding and gravy starter!!! He literally was like the Vicar of Dibley shovelling the last of the peas and beans in. We were supposed to go out that evening but he could only... More

We struggled to find a fish and chip restaurant open other than HR in GY. It was busy. Fish & Chips were nothing special. I am not sure why HR's are so popular and in our opinion are living on borrowed time.

The standard of this franchise is very hit-and-miss depending on ownership. The quality at this outlet was average. Better to take away but out of a handful of F&C restaurants this one was open in the off peak season we visited. Must try harder.

Description
Harry Ramsden's serve the same great quality fish and chips today that they have been since 1928. The brand was established 80 years ago, when Harry Ramsden opened his first takeaway store in a hut in Guiseley. His top-quality fish and chips brought people from near and far and it wasn't long before Harry's became the most famous fish and chip shop brand in the world. The fish is freshly prepared in Harry's kitchens daily and has that distinctive flavour revered the world over. The menu includes the world-famous battered fish with its closely guarded secret recipe, as well as an extensive choice of mouth-watering options and a fantastic children's menu, to satisfy all the family. There are 13 Harry's restaurants across the United Kingdom, from seaside locations such as Blackpool and Bournemouth to high street restaurants and Southampton city centres, so you're never far from a Harry's.
