We stayed overnight on the Roast and Room 20/11/16. The general standards of cleanliness, facilities and quality were all of a good standard, in some aspects excellent. We did however have a very poor experience regarding my wife's meal. She cannot tolerate cheese of any kind or quantity so we scanned the menu in detail and she settled on the... More

Having been taken to this restaurant by a friend, this restaurant seems to be a hidden gem. The location is easily accessible but when you get there, it is as though you well off the beaten track. We had steak and grouse. Having never had grouse before this was a treat. Both meals were very well presented and delicious. The... More

I used to live close by and visited often, now its perhaps 3 or 4 times a year, visited last month for Sunday Lunch and it was first rate. I like to have the option to have beef or lamb served pink and you get that option at Shibden, always good and I was not disappointed for Sunday lunch. Highly... More

Great welcome, service and food. The food was amaking seed with lashings of delicious gravy. We ate in the green room which allowed dogs, so was the perect place to come after a long walk to refuel. Can't wait to come again

Wow, went here for Sunday dinner today, 35 mile round trip, totally worth it. Dined with my partner who had the Crab starter, she doesn't like lemon so they changed the dish just for her, what service! For me, the chicken liver pate, with my own personal freshly baked loaf. Mmmm, amazing! Two roasts, one pork, the other beef. Both... More

Gorgeous setting with a lovely outside area to just drink or dine with the added bonus of an outside processco bar during the summer months. Inside is cosy and authentic. We all had a Sunday dinner which was soooo tasty. The deserts are to die for too! The staff are exceptional. Highly recommend.

We celebrated my husbands birthday upstairs in the restaurant. We were all delighted with our meals - 5 steaks cooked to perfection and 1 lobster. The steaks and the lobster were huge so next time we visit we will pass on the starters and just have the mains. The pub downstairs is always inviting - my son who lives in... More
