Absolutely delicious food that comes in massive portions. I had the pie of the day which at the time was ham hock and cheesy leek which was amazing. Would definitely go back!

Staying over in Derbyshire we decided to adventure out for a cosy meal and drink. We weren't disappointed. A lovely warm welcome by the landlord and locals. The landlord was very knowledgable about his wines and real ales, talking us both through the wine list and the real ales, some of which are brewed locally. The menu had enough variety... More
We ate here early Thursday evening and had an enjoyable dinner. The menu offers the normal range of pub food and between us we had fish pie and steak all of of good quality. The steak was also cooked as specified, rare. The best thing though about the this pub was the very warm welcome you get on entering, and... More
Yes, it's on the hillside at Crowdecote and a bed in the road. When we went the place was full and I'm guessing that this not unusual. We failed to get in the car park but found a space across the road. We reserved our table by phone as we'd noticed it was not open on Monday and Tuesday. We... More
We came here on a Saturday night; we were camping about 10 minutes away and the pubs close to us were fully booked. We found this pub through Google and I'm so glad we did find it! Such a welcoming atmosphere, some great ales and cider on tap that we were talked through. Food was just really good, fresh pub... More
A group of us booked an evening meal here during a stay in Derbyshire. We received a warm welcome and excellent service. True pub food: substantial and tasty meals. No frills just good food and friendliness. This is obviously a real local which is well used and popular.
We had a great welcome by the landlord when we finally managed to get a parking space. Our meals were reasonably quickly served, and the chips were good, but otherwise it wasnt anything unexpected. Our table was sticky. For ordinary pub meals I feel they were a bit overpriced - £40 for three burgers and three shandies.
We enjoyed a very warm welcome on arriving at the Pack horse Inn on a very cold and snowy evening. the Landlord was cheery and the it had a very friendly atmosphere. The topping on the cake was the menu which had plenty to choose from was I had the steak and my wife had the Lamb and they where... More
Staying in Buxton and looking for a good pub meal after a long day walking at Chatsworth House and Gardens. Excellent pub, really warm welcome, they were busy but found a table for us, near the blazing fire on a chilly evening. Food and service was great, husband and I had steak and ale pies and our son had sausages.... More
