We were looking for a place where my husband could get his medium/ well done steak. We found this pub at the bottom of the high street. The service and staff were excellent and the steak was well worth searching for. would definitely call in again if we were in the area

We were meeting family in Buxton and just dropped in. We couldn't sit together as we hadn't booked and the pub was busy, but the food was hot, received fairly quickly and above all was really nice. Juicy steak, burgers. Recommend the black pudding salad.

My sister and myself visited this pub for a quick lunch on a day out in Buxton. The pub itself was very nice, clean, quick service by friendly staff. The food was a let down, with frozen tasteless chips and the "tasty Yorkshire ham" arrived on the plate looking a little on the grey side. Neither of us could eat... More

Great, extensive menu, catering for all general tastes. Really friendly staff and quick service. Clean toilets and facilities generally. Would love to return the next time we're in Buxton.

Stopped here for a well earned pint after walking around Buxton for most of the afternoon. The pub has two main TV screens showing football when I was there. It's a decent size with tables outside at the front. My partner was a little disappointed as her soda and lime wasn't stirred and the lime settled at the bottom. Bar... More

Popped in today and ordered the Moroccan Salmon salad and a Steak & Ale Pie. The only thing Moroccan about the salmon was the poor thing looked like it had been left out in the Sahara to dry out and burn but at least it had some colour, unlike the insipid, flaccid membrane that passed for a puff pastry top... Used to come here a lot but the children's menu changed , it was great value for money and still is but the children's sausages changed from real sausages to a few tiny cocktail sausages which was terrible . This is not a fancy place but we enjoyed coming here weekly ad the food was lovely . This sadly put... More

Always eat here every time we visit, lovely pub, lovely atmosphere, staff really friendly, food is great, not expensive. Well cooked and always looks lovely when they bring it to you. Never have to wait very long. Good service. Visit regular, wouldn't eat anywhere else.

This was what we expected it to be, a very typical pub with typical pub food. Iam not saying this is a bad thing, far from it because you know what your going to get. The staff were friendly & the locals too & the food adequate.

We went here for our evening meal and I must say it was really nice, well presented and hot. The staff were very attentive and asked us if everything was OK while we were eating good value for money too. We liked it that much we decided to stay for a few drinks and the beer was good too.
