This place has a very nice interior - not quite what you might expect from the outside. Very efficient staff and nicely prepared food. The best meal we had in Hay. The desserts were also good. Popular so would advise you book.

Surprised it has a trip advisor number four rating for the area. Average food for above average prices.

For what one might call the "tourist trap" of Hay-on-Wye, the Old Black Lion was a real gem. The service was attentive and the food was outstanding. Easily the best meal of our ten-day trip to the UK. Highly recommended!
