My wife and I visited this lovely bookshop for breakfast on our trip to Hay-on-Wye and enjoyed good quality food (Welsh Rarebit / Pancakes with coffee). The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the cost of the breakfast was pricey £20 for the above. I guess this is because of the location (in a popular tourist town).... More

We visited this book shop and were pleased to find it was full of character aswell as books. The building itself is worth a visit and a browse through the many books on display is sure to lead to a purchase. There is also a café within the bookshop but we did not try it out this time.

If you love good healthy food, coffee and bookshops, then this place has it all. The food changes from week to week, but is always imaginative, good quality and made with fresh produces. I try and eat here at least a couple of times a months. The service is always great here and it is the kind of place to... More

We were wondering around Hay on a rather cold wet Sunday and looking for somewhere to eat with a dog, rather than putting her back into the car. Although I suspect they do not advertise the fact they are dog friendly there are a couple of tables on the way in that they will let dogs sit at if they... More

Being coeliac needed amendment to menu. Went to a great deal of trouble for me. I was totally confident eating here as both the waitress and chefs were so knowledgeable. The menu was also delicious !!!

Hi was there on the weekend and this place had come highly recommended by a friend and whilst the bookshop was lovely and the staff in the bookshop themselves were terribly helpful and friendly the same cannot be said for the staff in the cafe. The lady who acted in a maitre d' role was rude and treated potential diners... More

I've been here twice now, once in the new year and once this weekend. The first time I went I had a really nice experience - lovely food, service and staff. However, when I went this weekend (after recommending it to my family), I had a horrible experience. The women who was taking bookings was so rude to us, and... More
