Great pub with real ales on permanent Ines as well as guests. There is now food on Fridays and Saturdays lunch. Also there are Nally pasties scotch eggs and sausage rolls on offer . They don't last long either. There is a fantastic atmosphere here to be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. The service is always excellent no matter... More

This used to be a great pub serving meals to the community as well as patrons, but since the mother and daughter took up residence it has gone from bad to worse. You even have to wait to get served when you're the only one waiting at the bar while they finish texting. Ended up in the British Lion, but... More

Was expecting great food from here as in the past they had a great reputation and almost rivaled nearby similar places...however the roast was extremely disappointing. It was like all the veg was from frozen and over cooked. The meat was over cooked and the potatoes not good at all. Will try it again though one day as it may... More

We struggled here as we wanted to eat and unfortunately their times are quite sporadic. That said the wine and beer were lovely, the dart board was a lovely touch along with the tv. Staff attentive and relatively quiet which we liked!

Inspired by the positive reviews here on Trip Advisor the food to be had at this pub we went to eat here on a Saturday evening only to find that they don't serve food. At least not on Saturday evenings. Big disappointment. Had to find somewhere else at the last minute on the busiest night of the week. If you... More

I went there by chance recently and had the best Sunday lunch I'd had in a restaurant for ages. There was a choice of beef or chicken with all the trimmings. There were about four or five fresh vegetables and lovely Yorkshire's. Highly recommended.

We had not eaten here since Nicki and Nally took over the premises. So we gave it A GO! The beer is always good here, forever guesting ales.We had not booked but fortunately they found space for us. We ordered Roast Lamb and the whole meal was delicious. The veg was very fresh and cooked just right. I even ate... More

Friendly staff and nice pub been here last about a year ago and left good review. However things have evidently changed, had roast lamb roast and it was not good . Fatty meat and over cooked tasteless veg accompaniment to add to the disappointment. When mentioned just had a comment of oh really , will not be returning which is... More

Friendly traditional pub for adults, close to the town centre. There is a good selection of well kept beers.
