We went here whilst staying at Folkestone, the building is marvellous,an old Baptist church. The seating is in pews and very private alcoves. The meal was ok,chips really too well done, but very good value.Gets a bit noisy at night ,but the upstairs is quieter

Decor is nice, with the old music hall organ upstairs, painted ceiling, pews & little touches. Service very slow at the bar, one pace & not enough experience. Food usual value for money at a Wetherspoons. Lucky if you can find a clean table

We are Wetherspoons regulars but our first meal here was amongst the best. We eventually has two meals in here whilst in Folkestone and the second meal was not as good as the first (can someone please teach people to cook a soft egg). Parking is in a car park around the corner but not sure I would want to... More

Went to Folkestone and wanted a simple lunch. The Samuel Peto delivered that perfectly. Yes it's a JD Wetherspoon but it's value for money and most meals include a free drink. Had a great salad which was very filling but I had to have a chocolate brownie with ice ice cream. Which I did after installing Their app on my... More

Food is bog standard, if you want cheap microwaved meals on a budget that's cool we all do it but the lack of customer service skills with the staff is appalling, every single one of them looks like they'd rather be doing something else!! I have worked in pubs & I have excellent customer service skills!! No excuse for it!!... More

Jus visited with 3 friends. All 4 meals perfectly cooked. Nicely presented and very tasty. Drinks were normal high standard. The shipyard ale was lovely as usual. All the staff we encountered were polite friendly and happy. All in all a perfect evening meal for 4 with drinks for £33. This is now our usual watering when visiting folkestone (... More

Visited here today for a family lunch and yet again very unhappy with the food. Salad was very slimey and not washed properly and the rice was a big sticky mess on the plate. My husbands poppadoms were coveted in oil. Service was poor and unhappy waitresses. Won't be returning.

What a find this is, you may knock it but for a tasty lunch and a drink you cannot beat it for value. The old building is something else too!
