Have used this pub since 1966. Always have had good meals and with the McMullens 2for1 menu great value. Last couple of times not so impressed. The atmosphere seemed depleted and the steaks tough as old cardboard. New management so in fairness may take a...More

The pub was recommended to me by a friend for a Sunday roast. I wasn't disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating and the food was delicious; definitely the best cauliflower cheese I've had at a carvery. The best was tender and they even...More

nice quiet pub, friendly staff. Carvery was good with nice selection of vegetables, think they had a vegetarian option available. Due to the hot weather people had cancelled otherwise was told it was advisable to book

We arrived for a family meal a couple weeks back, it was our first time visiting the pub so we kept an open mind despite hearing mixed reviews. It didn't last long on arriving. We ordered drinks from a lovely friendly girl, sat down and...More

This is a McMullens public house and looks really nice on the website. Being there is not so good because it needs some refurbishment and the food was dire. I did wonder how the chef was able to serve several meals in a short time...More

.....good service, good food and great value. It's always a pleasure to enjoy lunch here and the selection is so varied you can easily ring the changes. We visit fairly regularly and if considering somewhere else, often say 'no, let's stick to the L&S Arm'!

Came here this afternoon after walking from the village of Wheathampstead. As a bit of a self confessed food critic myself, I must admit that I wasn't expecting too much, and it was rather late at 4.05pm for going up to the carvery for our...More

I came here for the first time for a drink after work. It was pretty empty but there were some gentlemen outside who felt it necessary to make comments as I passed them. This is not the fault of the pub, but i wonder whether...More
