Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was looking for a place to eat on a Friday night and came across this restaurant ,went in and was given a warm friendly greeting and was shown to a table straight away. we had the Cozze and garlic bread for starters followed by Penne Pollo and Lasagna. there was a dessert menu but was to full to go for it. The food was freshly cooked and was lovely highly recommend going

We went to celebrate a family birthday. There were 4 of us. We had Cozze starter and Calamari. Both were lovely. The Cozze was huge and I would love this as a main meal. We had a mixture of Pizzas and pastas and all were delicious and good sized portions. The deserts were delicious also. Staff were friendly and it had a lovely atmosphere. We all said it is the best meal we have ever had in Skegness. Will definitely go again and would highly recommend. Thank you Olive!

Great from start to finish . Family of 6 . Warmly greeted on arrival , taken to table which was spacious . Delightful young lady took drinks order and also brought food to table . The gentleman who took the food order was amusing and professional ( the owner ? }. Every mouthful of food was delicious and portions good , I even enjoyed Olives , which i normally never eat.

Having read the reviews we decided to eat here on the last night of our holiday, it certainly didn’t disappoint. My grandson had spaghetti Bolognaise but wasn’t really impressed, he thought it lacked the flavour he’s used to with his gran’s. My daughter had Arancini, my wife Bruschetta and I had Whitebait, all were very nice and good sized portions. Two of us had Penne Calabrese which was excellent and large portions, my wife had a pizza which was also very good. Overall it couldn’t be faulted with good service and reasonably priced.

Recommended by the Pub's chef we were staying in. The Small resturant is run by the Italian owner which gives it it's Italian character, It's an engaging atmosphere, waiter service is on par with all good resturants. I can only speak for our meal when rating the food, both startes were okay, I had the cold mixed seafood on a lettuce salad, my partner had spicy king prawns with a side salad, mains were spicy sausage with a cheesy pasta, my partner had pollo all a crema, mine was okay, she said hers was lovely, but the chicken was too big to fit in with the dish, I had the chocolate pancake for desert and she had the tia maria coffe liqueur. We normally go to the Padrino Italian Resturant in Southend, Both Returants leave you with a smile on your face, The Padrino just has the edge over the food, don't get me wrong both resturants are excellent

Phoned from around the corner to see if a table was available and they could squeeze us in immediately and we were not disappointed. I had a notion for a home made cooked creamy authentic lasagne and boy, did l get what l had been hankering after !!! Absolutely delicious and possibly one of the best homemade lasagne l have had in a long time. My husband had a pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our starters were also especially good - the bruschetta was presented beautifully and l had a garlic, tomato and mushroom starter which was so tasty. The meals are served at a really hot temperature which is great for me as l tend to be a slow eater but everything was hot right to the end. The staff were also very pleasant and l was able to thank the chef on the way out as the kitchen area is visible from the dining room. Would return every night if l could but Scotland is just too far.

What a lovely little restaurant. The service was exceptional as was the food. From my initial phone call we were given a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I enquired about gluten free pasta dishes and was advised that I could take my own pasta and they would cook it for me. We were on holiday so couldn’t but there were lots of other options for me. We couldn’t fault the food at all. Portion sizes were generous and everything tasted so very nice. We wish it was a restaurant close to home because we would have gone back for sure!

Excellent staff! Everyone was very kind and welcoming and the table service was great especially the young girl who served us. The floor service and overall atmosphere was fantastic and wasn’t too chaotic like most places would recommend 100%

Food was ok, decent sized portions, good service apart from when we wanted to pay, waited a long time. The most disappointing part was the fake dried Parmesan cheese and the poor attempt of a s use salad with my main, also we ordered 2 garlic breads , we only got 1. It could’ve been much better with not much more effort.

We booked for a father's day meal and what a treat it was. We've been coming here whilst staying locally for the last 15 years, firstly when it was la Bella napoli and now the olive. Antonio really has raised the bar here with terrific authentic improvements to the decor and ambience of the place. The dishes we had were superbly presented served by the enthusiastic team Antonio has put together here. The quality of the meals was excellent, the welcome very warm and the atmosphere perfect. I can't praise the olive enough and can't wait to return.

Met with the owner after the meal as remembered him from over 30 years ago and he told me that he had bought it back just over 2 years ago. It has changed since my previous visit and I must say for the better as there is more room and a nice bar area. The staff are very helpful and the food was amazing, it was the best Italian meal that I have had in ages.

I can't say enough good things about this really friendly and welcoming restaurant. You are greeted instantly and the service is outstanding. The food was incredibly tasty, authentic and the portion sizes are very generous. I highly recommend the dirty fries as a side dish for sharing and the fungi Napoli was my favourite of the night. Very reasonably priced, three starters, 4 mains, bottle of house wine, ÂŁ81. The staff are attentive and have great personalities. I will most definitely book here again when I'm in Skegness again.

Good Italian food served by friendly staff in Skegness. We had the two special mains, which were very good and a great bottle of Italian red wine. Several of the other parties in the restaurant seemed to know each other and the staff well, suggesting lots of repeat business.

Beautiful restaurant, gorgeous food. Service was fantastic. Visited for first time with my parents, husband and daughter. We were made to feel incredibly welcome on arrival and the service throughout was outstanding. Food was beautiful, husband had fillet of steak with Gorgonzola sauce which was cooked to perfection, daughter demolished her carbonara. Parents had cannelloni and I had polla crema. All tasted delicious. Great price, good value for money Tiramisu for pudding was delicious too!

Ended up here as couldn’t get in “The Gandhi” which has some of the worst customer facing service I have experienced. They would never see my face again. Anyway came to “The Olive” pleasant polite smiling and attentive staff. The food was outstanding, I didn’t see. Dish that came out of the kitchen, that I didn’t want to eat myself. My Carbonara was perfection and portion size can only be described as generous. An all at a very reasonable price. All in all a lovely gem of a restaurant hidden in the back streets of Skegness.
