Dropped in here for Sunday carvery as we had a 25% off two main meals voucher. It was mid afternoon, & there were probably ten other tables being frequented. We were told "Kat" would be serving us, & escorted to a table. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming. What we didn't know is that the poor girl who was going to be waiting on us, was also waiting on just about everyone else in the restaurant & was being run ragged. It took her about 15 minutes for her to get to us & take our orders. The food service was relatively quick, but we still hadn't got our drinks, for which she apologised. Not her fault at all - she hadn't stopped serving people since we walked in. I cannot help but think she was being put on, whilst others just didn't seem to be doing much tbh. Sadly there was no beef left, but it was mid-afternoon. The turkey & gammon were lovely & plentiful. Might want to turn the timer down on the parsnips & roasties though 🤣 For 2 standard carveries, a diet pepsi, & a (very good) teapot of tea, it came to about £22 for both of us. Would have been 5*, but management just need to get more staff or spread the workload more fairly, which resulted in a very disjointed service

Great food, service and atmosphere, Kayleigh was our server and was fantastic; kind, professional and friendly, she made our evening delightful. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was served in a timely fashion and was delicious especially for the price to feed a family of 4! Would definitely recommend visiting!

Having stayed at eaten at variou Premier inns across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the midlands, not one has come even close to the amazing breakfast served at this location. Steve and Jake provided a hot fresh and tasty breakfast that was just perfect, even the tomato was grilled instead of looking like something off your salad plate, and believe me it is rare to find that at many establishments. I mention Steve and Jake doung breakfast, but i must not forget rest of team who were helpful polite and welcoming, if you want good service awesome breakfast you need to try it.

I visited the Steamboat on the 10th December for my birthday lunch with my friend. I prebooked the table for 2 online as I usually do. Upon arrival we were seated in the middle of the restaurant on a table which was meant for a group of 6 people. I felt totally out of place and uncomfortable and requested to be moved as there were plenty of other suitable tables for 2 available. We were reluctantly seated at a more suitable table (please note the restaurant wasn't busy) so I couldn't see the issue. Upon arrival of our food - we'd ordered a pizza to share, plus sides of chips and garlic bread, it was dumped on the table quite rudely by the male waiter and off he went. No plates and no mayonnaise which was ordered. I looked around, he'd gone, only a lone male worker who apparently was off duty doing Xmas decorations. I requested plates and the missing mayo! I did express my annoyance of the lack of customer from the other waiter, stating who eats their meal without plates! The original waiter who served us has worked at the Cookhouse since it has opened and has never shown customer service skills, not to me any way. He's rude and dismissive. My heart sinks when I visit and he is on duty - unfortunately I visited again on the 11th and he was on duty again, I requested he didn't serve us. Also a group of 3 of us were seated at that table yet again when other more suitable ones were available, again we requested to be moved. I get it - if you're busy, you'd seat people who book where you can but when you're quiet seat people to the amount booking the table.

Staff were really good and attentive. Most disappointing was the portion size, I ordered chicken goujons (4 with dip) to start, main was katsu chicken (again 4 small goujons with katsu sauce ) white rice plus a nan bread (about the size of the palm of my hand), when the lady brought it out I thought I had mistakenly ordered a child's portion it was so small. The starter cost £5.50 with the main costing a further £12.50. Very poor value for money, sorry guys won't be visiting again.

Ordered drinks and food. Drinks came out 5 minutes before the food which took a good half hour. We were prompted to order pepper corn sauce and it came out in a thimble. We were told it was portioned out. So portioned it's pointless ordering it. Overall a bog standard service lacking the professional touch and customer service the exterior suggests. If youre out fir a steak. Go to steak and stuff. ( I'm not sponsored or affiliated) but you'll be happier than this place. Also the chicken tastes burnt.

Visited here with family this was our first nite and booked a table when sat down there where kids running arround throwing balls and sitting on floor where staff and guests where walking near. We ordered three meals when mine arrived the egg was under cooked so asked for it to be sorted. When meal came back all they had done was flipped the egg when cut into the gammon it was cold. So asked them to take away as was unhappy. I raised with manager on nite at time and sent the high manager an email. We then went for breakfast next day and to our surprise the food was cold and the manager wasnt very helpful that spoke to us at table. We ended up getting my breakfast refunded and cancelled all 3 breakfasts for the 10th april. The response on email from the manager made out that the staff dont look where there going and health and saftey of kids running arround and staff dont say anything. Too many excuses

I had tried to get a table the previous weekend but was fully booked so theres the first clue, the welcomes fab, very polite supervisor took me to a clean well presented table and I was soon ordering through a friendly waitress called Kat, she seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the menu and i soon had a drink brought to me. I chose the three meat option with the veggies as they came, the food came very quickly and was excellent, really good roast spuds and parsnip with beef, gammon and turkey, sauces were offered a little late but I'm too polite sometimes. Good quality meat nice gravy and an interesting well cooked trio of veg. It was so good i ordered a pudding which was apple caramel tart and custard, very good but portion a bit small, custard was ace. Thoroughly recommended as the staff take great pride in their work and the food they offer.

The SteamBoat Cookhouse & Pub is so very highly recommended. Staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We have been coming here for breakfast which kids eat free! Cynthia, Kayleigh and Glen are a credit to the company and always go above and beyond for us. The chefs always cook anything needed with it being fried bread or a poached egg. All in all you won’t get better people and good food & value for money.

Went for food on tuse night & enjoyed it so we thought we go bk the next day and wish we hadn't ordered fish&chips when it came looked nice until I cut into my fish and the battery inside wasn't cooked, sent it bk we had a fresh one made but it was the same raw batter inside. The manager said she is sorry she cannot forfill my expectations of having a fish that was cooked properly. Stood and told me 3 chefs checked it was cooked, but what she didn't realise was, I sat and watched and not one person checked it has I was watching were they cook the food, to see if ours was on its way. Want go here again I fount the manager patronising, not helpful. Payed for the food but wish I'd of refused tbh also fount it a bit odd that one of the chefs wasn't wearing a beard net

Xmas party dinner, pre booked for 20 people, where do I start. Over half an hour wait for starter, had to asked for seafood sauce, missing from prawn cocktail. Then over 40 minutes wait for main, what a joke that was, no turkey, no salmon, burnt food, food not fresh, service poor. Duty manager came and no apologies for food not available even though it was pre booked and a Xmas theme meal. Staff very rude was expressing my opinions and was shouted to calm down, not even angry at this point but was shun down by a very rude waitress called Kayleigh. After main waited once again another half hour for pudding. No brandy sauce with Xmas pudding, what a joke Xmas theme not. Staff just did not care, whent to the bar and was greeted by Kayleigh eating food and asking me do I want a drink or the bill, as I work in hospitality am sure eating food when serving is totally unacceptable. Please be aware these things may sound trival but when your guest are visual impaired and receiving this service feels quite daunting and probably discriminate. I do hope some one in a high profile role sees what is actually happening at their Skegness based hotel.

Server was good, helpful and polite. Unfortunately the Food was not. Chicken burger for £14 was not sold as the menu described, sent it back once for a fresh bread bun. Expected to get a good tasty filling, but got an overcooked tiny chicken breast on a large bread roll. Chips were good, nice and crispy, and filled out the plate. The kitchen also prepared the wrong steak for another part of the order, but at least that looked like value for money. The Chicken Burger was not the high value item, like described in the menu, the quality depends on the kitchen staff and what supplies they have available. This evening was poor on both counts.

We use this establishment regularly as it is local to us. The food is good value and the portions are generous so it never disappoints. The menu changes regularly so there's always something new to try and there's a good selection too. We prefer to visit out of season as it is very popular and during the summer, very busy! The staff are always friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit!

As an experience our visit was okay for me and my family. We were seen to promptly at the door and offered the allergen menu. Although nothing was further explained about allergens to us, we did find the menu simple to understand. The server we had was pleasant, and took the order promptly. Having looked around it was clear to see she was busy and maybe had too much on her plate. But truth be told, this was the last time we saw her. Now as far as I am aware, when a table orders starters this should arrive first and on its own. But confusingly, with no explanation the kids' starters arrived at the same time as their mains and ours, which we waited for, for quite a bit of time...but it was busy and I understand there probably a wait. I am assuming the manager who I saw on the bar brought it over. But obviously the table now felt cramped with more plates than expected, and the kids mains ended up being cool before they could get to them. To be clear, the food was great but the service let it down there. We did have a check back a minute after receiving our order by 3rd server... but this would be the last time we saw any staff until the area we were sat practically emptied, to which we sat waiting for the potential of being asked for another drink or to pay our bill. I felt awkward and I felt that I wanted to stand up to see if I could pull anyone over just to pay the bill. Overall, the service started out well and the food was good, but it seemed understaffed to the point of when we got what we got we were abandoned until we would demand a bill.
