Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great service, we were seated quickly, and drinks orders taken. Not long until food order taken. Drinks brought very quickly, we had a bottle of Sicilian white (super, very light) Food arrived very promptly. Delightfully tasty food. Large portions. Great value.

The menu was really varied. All 4 of us had something different for both starters and mains and we couldn’t fault any of it. From fish to steak to lamb it was all fresh, well cooked and really tasty. We were taken aback by the size of the meals, they were very generous so make sure you are hungry. Great price 4 starters, 4 mains, 2 sides, 1 dessert, 3 coffees, 1 liqueur and a bottle of Prosecco from £170. Staff were friendly and very helpful (I have an allergy and all was fine). Decor very nice, we were in the conservatory. Make sure you book if you want to go at a popular time or at the weekend. A little gem in Skegness.

First time In Skegness, love Italian food so booked in. Portions are very generous, service professional and attentive. We boxed up our leftovers as were so full! Food was really, really good. I had a vegetarian tagliatelle, so good, kids had 'smaller' versions of what they wanted off the main menu, but very generous. Would definitely return if we lived closer, 5stars

We were disappointed by this place for a few reasons. The food was below average for what we assumed was an authentic Italian restaurant. Th mussels were served in a creamy sauce which was tasteless, watery and not enjoyable. The beef rib starter was very fatty , the pasta looked like it was from packets and the same for my seafood within the pasta. Nobody asked throughout the meal how our food was until the very end. The waitress was lovely and friendly but a shame the place was also v cold and did not meet the expectations we had hoped. We won’t be returning.

Visited here on a Thursday night. Place was very quiet with only a scattering of clients. Waitress was polite but we felt we were rushed. Starter came out promptly quickly followed by the main after we had only just finished the starter. Starter was the king prawns which was overcooked. The mains we had was the meatballs again they were dry. The waitress never asked us if we were enjoying our meal so couldn’t complain. The chef and the manager sat behind us having their own meal which was uncomfortable for us. Really disappointed with our overall experience as years ago before the restaurant was done up we had a lovely time. Perhaps it’s not a place to eat midweek.

Beautifully presented restaurant with a car park offering a really ace arancini with truffle, calamari very good also. The polo Thermidore was very average however, mine was served with packet pasta, onion skin in sauce, no hint of the brandy in it as advertised though.. not impressed as any Italian should serve fresh pasta imo. I would not call this italian cuisine but food from someone who got an italian cookbook from morrisons for christmas. No returno

We booked a table for a family of 9 celebrating a birthday, all local to Skegness. Pre- ordered to help their kitchen staff. To say we were disappointed is an understatement and to help the owners tackle the issues I am going to list the main issues. Glass dining area way too hot and none of the retractable windows opened until customers were asking because it was overwhelming. Garlic bread was pre bought cheap bases with tomato and garlic paste mixed together! Calamari was defrosted, overcooked and chewy and the sauce for the mussels was like tomato soup. Main courses, chicken was dry, prawns overcooked with a sauce similar to the mussels and the chips were big, chunky and pre salted? The food looked like it had been just thrown on with no care. Needless to say we didn't order desserts and left after paying them ÂŁ250 which we have no problem with if the food is up to standard. Our experience was certainly not one we could say was authentic Italian and having spent time in Italy ourselves I was sad at this representation of their food. I'm not one for writing reviews like this but I just think restaurant owners should not use poor ingredients to save costs, increase the prices and make the food and experience better.

I have been here many times and tonight I went on our Christmas works meal. The meals were pre ordered so we didn't wait for food and it didn't disapoint but the staff were surly to the point of rudeness. We had to ask for dessert menus, these were bought out and left in a pile on the table. No reference to any "Specials",in fact no conversation at all. The bill wasn't brought to the table, nor were any after dinner mints offered. The girl taking payment never even said thank you, made it clear it was a nuisance to her. The festive spirit was clearly lacking, very disappointing.

Stopped off at the Tarantino restaurant on the recommendations of trip advisor. There are, in my opinion, not may exceptional restaurants in Skegness but this ranks amongst the best. Ideally situated within easy walking distance from the hotel we were stopping in (Woodthorpe Hotel) and plenty of parking space, although the location is slightly off the main town centre. We were early birds (5pm) and so the restaurant was very quiet. A very spacious restaurant and the waitress was very attentive to all our needs opening the windows for us due to the hot weather. The food was well cooked and tasty and value for money. Tried to book in the next night but was fully booked!! Would return when back in Skegness in the future.

We went here last night One of us got the time wrong but it was fine and we were took to our seats Within 5 minutes we were asked if we would like drinks so we ordered a bottle of wine and soft drinks 20mins later we had finished our drink and I had to ask for someone to take our order They can back and took it The food was beautiful absolutely gorgeous and steaks cooked to perfection. I got up to go to the toilet and not Ita specials board which we knew nothing about. They took our plates away and brought us the dessert menus 1/2 later they came back and asked for our desserts and said no could we have the bill please 720 till 1005 was very long in my opinion

Reasonably priced, lots of different choices Food was delicious We enjoyed it so much that we booked again whilst still on holiday there. In walking distance from our hotel, but there is a car park if needed. Highly recommend to anyone staying In Skegness

Good restaurant close to the front, with an extensive menu of Italian favourites. It's better on the inside than it looks from outside, which first made me think of a converted petrol station. The food is extremely good, but ensure you have a good appetite and your eating trousers on, as the portions are on the large size - which was good for me. Very friendly servers, who were attentive, without ever being too pushy. The Chicken Milanese i chose was superb, with brioche crumb, mushroom sauce and chunky chips. The garlic mushroom starter was also superb, although we also chose garlic and cheese pizza to dip in the sauce, which was pure indulgence. Good chocie of wines too, so all in all, highly recommended if you fancy a good evening out with friends and family.

What a disappointment. Dressed up, excited to visit as we had been several times before and it had been lovely. Wow what a change. Within minutes the owner opened the bifolding doors between the main restaurant and conservatory. It was freezing cold. We asked for him to shut them which he did eventually but then reopened them. We sat in our coats like several other people. The service was from people who didn't seem to like their jobs and they struggled to smile or give off any enthusiasm. My daughter had a dead spider on her napkin. We even asked the owner for the bill and stated we didn't want to stay for dessert as it was too cold, he laughed. We left and went to the co-op to get pudding and take home to eat in the warmth. We won't be going back. Definitely stick to San Rufo

Visited with friends for an evening meal after hearing good reviews about the place. As usual I'll get the moans out of the way first, there are only 2 but unfortunately they are both about the meal.. I thought being an Italian restaurant having calamari would be a safe bet, wrong, it was so overcooked it was like chewing elastic bands. Mains, was a king prawn dish with pasta. It came with chips, unfortunately I was that hungry, I'd eaten half of it before I realised, the actual king prawn dish was lovely, but who has an Italian dish with chips? On the plus side, the place itself is nice, clean and comfortable, the staff and nice and friendly and the service was good, not having to wait long for your meal, there was also a good selection of wines available.
