Excellent. Loved the ambience. We were in the big room with the moose head. Slightly noisy when full due to the high ceiling but I'm being picky. Seats so comfy. Food was all excellent. We thought the brownie with the fizzy sorbet was inspired.

We had a table at the back restaurant, a semi circle because we needed a high chair. The table was large and easily accommodated the bread and glasses etc. The high chair was good quality and solid. We had starters which were cooked to perfection and the small person with us had a Childs fish and chips. They provided a... More

So here we are, my first seasonal 'Christmas Dinner' with my colleagues, Friday night, in a VERY busy pub /hotel /restaurant - always a risk busy, Christmas parties, food could be off the mark.....fear not it was excellent. Excuse the lengthy report but they deserve it. I was impressed as it was busy. Of course we'd pre-selected our menus, a... More

Had an early breakfast here in the cosy upper lounge area with comfortable seating and a warm fire. Staff were friendly and efficient and full of fun. A very pleasant start to the day in a very atmospheric pub. Food was freshly cooked and the napkins were cloth! Lincolnshire sausage was such a change from the usual plastic pork. Will... More
