The food was good, the staff were helpful. Not sure why they needed the bouncers on the door but they let us in anyway.

Thank you very much fidgy! We had door staff over the bank holiday weekend as we sometimes have issues with customers so they were there to protect our bar staff during a busy weekend :) More

We arrived here at about 6pm on Monday night (10th April). I know it was a Monday but most of the draught beers weren't on line. Using Weatherspoon's quite a bit throughout the UK that's what we go for, a little disappointing for a start. We sat outside and were surprised to see that you could use glasses outside on... More

Hello David D, Thank you very much for your feedback, I will look in to this issue that you seem to be having with our bar staff and rectify it, clearly there is a blockage in our training! Glasses, we allow generally just because a lot of customers prefer it, we use plastics during events though due to massive numbers... More

Needed a quick lunch with a colleague was a lovely sunny day and managed to get a seat out the front. Service at the bar was quick food order was taken, sat outside for less than ten minutes when our food arrived. Jacket potato was hot and filling was plenty, salad was a little worse for wear but everything was... More

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and food arrived reasonably fast- good food too and lots to choose from. The only down side is I think the staff are quite slow to clean up around you as there were many surrounding tables still with plates or rubbish left.

We visited for food on a Saturday evening. The building is fantastic. An old wharf building that's been adapted in that Wetherspoons Way. It's one of those that feels bigger on the inside than on the outside - it does extend quite a way back from the entrance so plenty of room. The bar service was great. Most helpful lady... More

Hi Wimblebear, I'm very glad to hear that your service at the bar was good! However, I'm sorry that your steaks were not cooked how you would have liked. We would have been happy to replace it for you if you had alerted a member of the floor team. You can also ask for salad instead of tomato, peas and... More

We went for a meal with friends and there wasn't many people in the restaurant eating so wasn't a rush for food. My burger arrived and it was stone cold so I sent it back and it arrived like warm but I was so hungry I ate it this time! A friend then found a long blonde hair in her... More

Been here a few times and we do rate it over the other weatherspoons in town, but only just. The don't have branded lager glasses as apparently they get taken...found it funny that the other weatherspoons glasses don't get nicked! The pub is located in a great place so I can imagine it would be packed in the summer.

hi A J, Thank you for your review! Yes we have issues with our branded glasses being taken, which of course are very expensive to keep replacing, we have a few that we use but also, we have so many different brands of lager and ales that it would be impossible to stock enough of each of them. Description
JD Wetherspoons The Quay is located on the bustling quayside overlooking Brownsea Island and the World's second largest natural harbour. During the summer months The Quay plays host to various events from classic cars and motorbike nights to pirate family fun days and fireworks nights! A little bit of History: The Quay was the name of the existing pub, taken over by Wetherspoon in March 2004, and has occupied this former warehouse since c1996. In Tudor times, the Quayside was called the Great Quay, even though it was less than 200 feet long! The Little Quay was added and further extended in the late 18th century. This was the New Quay, where this pub and warehouses and wharves were built.
