Spent an evening catching up with friends I only see occasionally. Great atmosphere and welcome. The food was okay, nothing special, but nothing bad. The owner sings along to the music, which is fine and adds to the atmosphere, but it was more like being in a concert hall than a restaurant. The music was so loud, conversation was very difficult and my... How delightful to spend an evening in an owner-managed restaurant that take great delight in making sure you enjoy home cooked Italian food and Filippo's owners passion for Italian Opera. The ambience and decor is 70's including straw-bottomed Ciante candle holders which gives a bygone charm, including being good value for money. the volume at times can be loud, but... More

We've been coming to Filippo's for over twenty years, which says everything really. It's perfect for a cheap, beautifully cooked meal as long as you're not expecting a quiet night! Filippo is the most wonderful host - I've lost count of the number of free drinks and desserts we've had over the years, he never fails to remember us even... More

Filippo will leave no stone unturned to make you feel welcome into his little piece of Italy that is his restaurant. His unique idea is to feature beautiful classical and operatic music and if you are very fortunate he may also serenade you along with the meal. This is a lively friendly restaurant, serving traditional Italian food, in the heart... More

I have regularly been to this wonderful restaurant and the owner Filippo and his wife are wonderful managers there; the food is fantastic and very low priced compared to many other restaurants. As it is so popular I recommend that you always phone and make a booking to be able to attend having a wonderful meal there.
