Quiet location away from the busy areas of the town centre . An historical building with so much character but is starting to look tired and in need of updating. The staff are very welcoming , helpful and attentive which is very different to my last visit some while ago. The food , however , is disappointing although the portions... More

Lovely afternoon tea and not too pricey, at least warm inside on a cold day, unlimited tea/coffee on this deal too plus lovely vintage pieces to eat/drink from is a plus.

As the title says, we didn't eat in the brassiere upstairs as we were just looking for a quick bite to eat and a drink. The place is lovely, and the staff nice but the food was below average. It also took over half an hour to get our light bites (2x sandwiches). They were not great at all sadly,... More

Nice environment plenty of space. Food was good. Service ok if a little slow. Would use again. It's a bonus that it's one of the few decent restaurants in town to open on a Monday lunchtime

Forgot us for 20 minutes after seating - without even a glass of water on the table. By this time the option chosen was unavailable, and when the food did come, my colleague's food had something included which he had expressly asked to have removed. Mine was disappointing in flavour, but acceptable. My first visit - I'm not sure I... More
