Had a stay at Edvard Grieg due to a delayed flight, so decided to eat in the restaurant Brasserie X in the hotel. I went for the XL burger with extra onion rings in addition..., and it was absolutely one of the better burgers I’ve...eaten, so would definatly recommend it! Onion rings as side comes in many shapes and tasts, but these were very tastful; real crunch and good taste of fresh onion. So if you are looking for a good meal when staying at Edvard Grieg, the burgers are a good option for sure. And the staff were efficient and friendly as well!More

We stayed overnight at this hotel which is a fine but too modern looking place. However, since the hotel is far away from any other place to eat, we were sort of compelled to dine in the hotel restaurant. We had been traveling all day,...were tired and didn't feel we had to dress up to dine here, but the staff were rather snooty to us. We did eventually get seated after we waited for 25 minutes. Prices here are very steep, the equivalent of $78 USD for a burger, an appetizer and two glasses of wine. My burger was rather ordinary with a pile of fries and a pickle. My wife had the awful falafel appetizer. The wine was fine but at over $13/glass it should be. Average diner type food at a fine dining price. Service is uppity, unfriendly and slow. Ambiance is nothing to brag about. A big meh.More

Tried this restaurant once when I was staying at Qualiy Hotel Edvard Grieg. Service was fast and food was good, even when there was a lot of people in the restaurant.

We stayed at the hotel in August, and decided to dine here as it was easy. It was a bad decision, as this was probably one of the worst meals I've eaten out in Bergen. We ordered a steak, spareribs and sides. Regular dishes that...you would assume would be an easy feat to make at least good, if not great. The steak was placed on a bunch of cold tomatoes, making the steak taste weird. Even worse, the steak was soggy and though. Chewing it was a chore, this has to be one of the worst cuts of meat I've ever tried in a restaurant. My spareribs had a out-of-a-can terrible tomatosauce all over it. It tasted terrible. The ribs otherwise were fine. The sides were good, sweet potato fries, french fries and onion rings were very good. This isn't enough to redeem the otherwise poor dishes, and the prices were quite steep, and I was expecting way more. I'm sure some of the food here is ok and even good, but our experience was that the food is just regular dishes executed terribly.More

Because of the hotel location this might be the only good place have your dinner if you do not want to drive around in search of a restaurant. We had nan bread (that wasn't really a nan bread but close) with homus and tzatziki for...entree, salmon and spare ribs. All was very tasty and properly cooked. Keep in mind that the spare ribs come in a huge portion that can be good for two if you had an entree.More

Within a business assignment I stayed a couple of times at the Edward Grieg hotel and also had dinner in the Brasserie X hotel restaurant. The design and atmosphere has some potential, but the service is basically so bad that it's actually an insult to...the guests eating there. It is a small restaurant, usually not much going on. On a normal evening maybe half full. I'm not sure what the problem with the staff is exactly, but waiting 10 minutes to get seated while the staff is basically right in front of you ignoring you is just unbelievable. I'm really wondering what is going on in their heads when they past a guest that is waiting to be seated 10 times without noticing him/her. Also, with a restaurant half empty waiting 15 minutes to place a order ist simply not acceptable, where did they learned that? You cannot behave like that in front of a guest and I never encountered such a bad service in any other restaurant in Bergen. In general the behaviour of the staff is just really strange, running around without a clear goal, spending more time typing something into the cashing system that actually servicing costumers, randomly talking to themselves? Like I said, i don't know what is going on...More
