Been there with my husband yesterday for the first time while visiting newly opened Lagunen mall. Very fast, smiley staff, nicely decorated facility and amazing hamburgers. Prices are not so bad, consider they probably have to pay a huge rent as all stores in a...shopping malls. I had a chicken soup as a starter and it was simply fantastic. Will be back soon.More

My husband and I had a lovely lunch today at icookkitchen. I had the chicken curry soup and it was delicious! It was served with bread and pesto butter which was included in the price, so the restaurant may have changed their policy of charging...for extras as mentioned in the other posts. My husband had the capresi salad, also tasty. We both followed with quiche, which we enjoyed and which was served with a lightly dressed side salad. The menu had a nice variety of items, including breakfast, which is unusual in these parts. I thought the decor was warm and inviting and since the restaurant is on an end, it doesn’t feel like you are in a mall. They have a large outdoor seating area that is probably very pleasant in the warmer months. The owner and the staff member helping serve were both friendly and attentive. I’m surprised by the negative reviews here...both reviewers mentioned price. Our meal as described above with a beer and a soda was 700nok. My husband and I have been staying in Bergen the past few months and our meals out have ranged from 500 to 800nok, so the prices did not seem unusual to us. We would definitely return!More

I ordered a entrecote with some creamy potatoes and a soda, my family had a bit different things but we left dissapointed sadly. The Entrecot was OK, it was medium on the very plus side of it, and the potatoes had a very sharp unpleasant...to the palate taste to them for me at least. All in all the meal was ok, but when the bill came we were almost shocked.. These prices are what you should expect at a finer gourmet restaurant, and this was most certainly not it. Everything was extra, even the tiny little bowl of herb butter was extra. I thought i`d escape Egon and its not very good food and seemingly high prices, but unfortunately i will rather go their from now on rather then going here again.More

The EvenIcanCookBetter place is nothing than pretentious with its outdated industrial style interior and dull food. Prices are ridiculously high for some lukewarm but dried-out venison burger. Even Egon around the corner makes more juicy burgers! And that for almost half the price, because here...you need to pay extra for your side-salat, aioli, fries, etc. Good to know that your tiny Aioli cup is only half full... The food of the day was a big but tasteless piece of fish and asking if vegetables come with it, if was served only with some already cold potatoes. The service was friendly and tried to help mitigate what was wrong with the food, but the prices were only justified for the fresh juices they serve. I don't know what the shopping center Lagunen charges for rent, but a full dinner at this place is in the same ballpark as Bien Bazar (a high-end tapas bar in city center)... I would even say that IcookKitchen is the worst place to go for food around Lagunen and Bergen, because of the horrendous price and the delivered quality. Of cause there is worse food around, but at least PastaSentral and McDo do not rip you off.More
