This is where the locals go for the best traditional Norwegian food! Generous servings, reasonable prices and great service! You cannot go wrong with this restaurant! A little off the typical tourist track, but combine it with a nice 20 mins walk along the Akerselva (river) from downtown to work up an appetite!

Instead of promised slow cooked pork we got hard to chew lamb. Obviously server didn't know the menu! Didn't gave any good feelings or wish to go back.

Dear Gille L. We're so sorry to hear that you were less than satisfied with your meal. We have not served lamb during the month of December but we do apologise for you not enjoying your pork. Come by some other time and we'll make it up to you :) More

One of my favorites close to my home. Always good food and a nice offer each day: today's special. I come back again and again when I want to treat myself without spending too much money.

This traditional restaurant with a modern, cosy interior provided us with an excellent meal at a reasonable price. A salad with honey-glazed chèvre cheese was generous and delicious, so was the carrot soup with sour cream and shrimp. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful.

Had (today's special on Wednesday) lovely cutlet with mashed potatoes, broccoli and lingonberries. Excellent service!

Sagene Lunsjbar was part of the neighborhood I grew up in, but even as a curious teenager in search of a cheap beer, I never visited. Too many drunks. How quickly things change, or rather, how much things change in 50 years... There is a small, but nice patio where people gather for a coffee or a drink, and a... More

Had lunch here with a colleague and a supplier. Had the great Sagene Burger and it was great. Just as expected. Service was a bit low, but I guess it was on par with Norwegian standard but they could be more friendly and smiling.

Very good old established restaurant and pub in Sagene - one of the old villages of Oslo, now a suburb. Friendly, social, easy with a set menu that does not change much over the years. Reasonable prices - much better than the flashy restaurants in the city centre - and good wholesome food. Gives you the village life of Oslo.

The food was tasted well enough, but we had to wait for over an hour after ordering before we were served. When the food came there were several mix-ups, different parts of the group was served more than 15 minutes apart, although it was one order. Furthermore there were large differences in portion sizes (even within the same type of... More

The food is good. Maybe slightly above average. Nothing fancy. Friendly service. Good atmosphere in a place with history.

Description
The yellow house in Maridalsveien 153 was built in the middle of the 18th century. It has been a dancing scene, cinema, restaurant, cafe and in the end a "brown pub" before the total renovation started in the winter 2005/2006.

Sagene Lunsjbar was reopened Wednesday 22nd of february 2007 with time appropriate details and is now established as an informal and everyday local cafe suitable for everyone. Sagene Lunsjbar is today a light and nice gathering point in Sagene - a cafe with rich traditions in informal surroundings.
