Food is great, but they are understaffed

The room is packed, and we get the last available table. The guest we can see are mostly mixed couples. We get the menus and after a while we order food. And drinks. The food does take a little while to arrive, but that is OK. We understand that they have a lot to do, and things will take a while. Food arrives. For a non-Thai, the food tastes great. My companion complains that the recipes are not "real Thai" - the vegetables used are not what they would normally use in a Thai menu. We want more to drink, but the waiters are not showing up. Guests leave, and the tables are not cleared. When the waiters finally arrive, they are more interested in clearing the tables than in taking more orders. We give up and accept this as a "one small bottle for dinner" place. It is obvious they know that the service is not working as it should. We have the sound of someone in the back yelling at the staff, telling them what to do, accompanying our whole meal. Pay at the till on exit. Not disappointed with the food, but they should be able to do better.

Its one of my recommended Thai Restaurant in Oslo,The food really taste good. The portion size is okay. I like the soup with wanton and pork on it i think its number 36 on the menu. Staff are okay. The place is okay .Reasonable price

Doesnt look great from the outside but once you enter there are alot of locals and the staff is very friendly. The food there is great aswell and decent prices for oslo

A great Thai food place that has deteriorated

Previously, this was a place that served delicious Thai food. After they decided to make a little more money themselves by buying cheaper ingredients (chicken) that are full of brine and that taste like "chicken in a tin can" we have lost our favorite place. The chicken dishes have lost all flavor, even soaking them with soy sauce does not help. This is just sad. Tell them you too, as we have done, or steer clear.

Good Thai Food - Hidden gem

The atmosphere was good. Good service, and good food. We had PAD KRAPRAO GOONG and KAENG PED TAOW HOO. Good vegetarian food as well.

My group and I shared the 'tom yam ruam mith, pad see ew, and pad thai, and we were very happy with all of it. Authentic with perfect level of spice and taste.

Spicy and tasty

This was located near our airbnb so we had dinner here as it looked busy. We were fortunate to get a table without reservation. Our food did not take too long to serve and everything looked fresh and flavourful. Excellent spice level as I love spice and this had me going for the water. Staff was attentive and quick, price is on the high side but that's the price of having Thai food in Oslo. Menu selection is quite wide with vegetarian options as well.

I would give more stars if possible!

We often take the bus past here and it is always packed and we finally got round to trying it today. Absolutely incredible food! I can't recommend it any higher. We had 3 mains as well as some spring rolls to start, everything was packed full of flavour and the service was lovely too. Really calm atmosphere and some background music playing as well. Very reasonable prices for Oslo. Keep up the great standard, we will be back very soon!

STAY AWAY! Dirty toilets, rude staff and overpriced bad food

I ordered one dish called Lar Nar Kai, which was chicken and vegetables in some mystery sauce called 'trick', which the waitress did not explain and it was tasteless and stodgy; very low standard considering I paid 175NOK which is $20 (£14.50) for it, I was not happy with it at all. I think the photo below says enough. I'm not someone who complains, but considering I paid so much for it I asked the waitress that I would like something else to replace it. Instead of listening to my complaint, they dismissed what I had to say, insisting it was my opinion that the food was bad and that I had to pay for it anyway, despite the fact I had one bite and refused to eat it. They had no sympathy and had only anger at me because I didn't like their dish. If they want their restaurant to survive, they should listen to what their customers tell them!! After conceding and paying for my unwanted food, they didn't even bother to say goodbye, I guess for obvious reasons. Toilets were also also very unclean and cleaning products were left in front of customer. I visited Thai Orchid on 13/12/2019. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My warning to people going is to be careful what you order, because if you don't like it, it's your fault apparently.

Great flavors

Had lunch here and will happily come back again. Although I got the wrong starter, it tasted so good I didn't Brother mentioning it. Beef soup was great too. Service was fast and the server seemed really nice. The restaurant itself is quite old but neat and tidy.

Heard only good things about this place! Walked into this lively place without a booking, got seated straight away! Food was really good authentic Thai and not the usual western thai you normally get served! Good portion size and very tasty food! Good service even if the place was full 😊😊
