Rebhuhn offers a nice selection of traditional Austrian dishes in good quality. The interior is that of a nice old tavern, with a few modern touches, without trying to hard to be to be hip. The restaurant is usually full, also on weeknights, so better reserve a table.

This unformal place serves simple and very good classical austrian cuisine. It not located near touristic spots so it is usually full of local people. Very good veal Wiener schnitzel, dish of lentils...

We searched Rebhuhn as a nearby Austrian restaurant to where we are staying. Food was very good, service was fast with very friendly staff and lively atmosphere with a few group outings, on a Monday evening. A very pleasant experience and recommended.

Friendly staff and a warm welcome in this busy restaurant. Despite not having booked we only had a short wait for a table .The restaurant was busy considering it was 8pm on a Sunday evening. Good menu with traditional Austrian fayre. Food was well presented, tasty and portions were generous. Recommend this restaurant.

I visited Rebhuhn for the first time yesterday even though I had passed it in the D tram many times in the past. We were there in the late afternoon and the place was more or less deserted. I was not hungry myself, but my colleague pronounced the Wiener Schnitzel to be top quality. Service was friendly if not exactly... More

We visited Rebhuhn after the Freud museum on our first day in Vienna. Only by the end of the trip did we realise just how good it was regarding price, service and for tasting the Austrian kitchen. The prices are unbeatable, the service is fast and the food as if it came out of an Austrian grandma's kitchen. Expect to... More

Nothing really good, nothing really bad to say about this restaurant. I have been here quite often,15 times at least, as i live nearby - but I am always between half happy and half dissatisfied: with the menu, the service, the noise. Food and beer are ok but not spectacular - fresh but not elegant or interesting. I prefer some... More

A simple place with wooden tables and a bit dirty walls but very nice food. A typical Austrian cooking. Simple menu with traditional schnitzel, goulash and tafelspitz. Highly recommended!

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
