Beware! When I got my bill I found that they had added nearly $10 to my bill for tap water, and a "cover charge". These charges where not stated anywhere, and my server never mentioned either of these until I questioned the charges. Horrible business...More

I think this was one of my favourite experiences in Vienna. Discovered by accident on a Friday evening (we hadn't booked!) we shared a butchers block type table on high chairs with another couple. The front of house definitely provided service with a smile, making...More

Down a little cobbled lane is a very unassuming small restaurant called Ef16. When you walk in the place is lit beautifully with candles and the atmosphere is very cosy and warm and happy. The service was immediately impressive. Our waiter (all smiles) showed us...More

Good food from biological local produce (whenever possible), made and served with pleasure. Nice location in an old vault in a backstreet. Easy walking distance from public transport (you'd better, no parking)

First night in Vienna in 40 years - that sounds old... Anyhow, Trip Advisor had good reviews and it was close. We arrived without reservations but we were seated right away. It became busy and I think calling ahead is a good idea. My wife...More

North of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna suddenly
turns small, winding and medieval, opening up to
legendary places such as the Basilisk sculpture at

I am travelling alone and really want to taste good authentic Austrian food and wine. Do you have some setting at bar for single lady? I prefer to sit at bar then table by myself. Thanks

I think you would be best served in the restaurant of an upscale hotel. The Café Sacher comes to mind. For a more progressive cuisine and less trafficked environment, would recommend the restaurant at the Sans Souci.
