I had a great meal at Regina Margherita. As a solo traveler, sometimes it's hard to go into a nice, "quiet" neighborhood place, where a party of 1 isn't necessarily greeted warmly. They were exceptionally welcoming at this restaurant, and I felt very comfortable there. The food was excellent, as was the wine selection, and service great. I wish the... More

I usually eat at Regina Margherita once a month. Located in the very center of Vienna, they offer great lunch menus and a top à la carte. Ask for the fresh fish which changes regularly. Pizza is also a speciality, even if I go mostly for the pasta and the meat or fish mains. Not cheap, but good price/quality range... More

Stumbled across this and managed to get a table. Unless you book ahead you will struggle to get a table in December in Vienna. Really good quality Italian food. Not much more to say really. Helpful staff. Good atmosphere.

Table for 2 booked the day before, not ready in time (30 min later). You are invited to get a Sekt (which should be offered for the unpleasant waiting time but you have to pay for it!) but not at the bar, instead between the doors of men and women toilet. Go to Vapiano if u need a pizza in... More

Regina Margherita is a bustling, cosy and very tasty Italian Restaurant in the heart of Vienna. It is in a courtyard close to the Herrengasse and is not one you would stumble upon. Our hotel (Steigenberger) recommended this restaurant and it was perfect. Delicious Stone Oven Pizzas, Great deserts and great italian wines. We did not try the pasta and... More

The location is nice, set in a courtyard, off the beaten track from tourists. The restaurant itself is very pretty - nice Lights that change colour, music at a level you can still talk over, and the ambience is good. However, the staff come off as quite rude and abrasive. One particular older bald chap with glasses seemed to go... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
