I have almost been converted to vegan after an awesome buffet lunch! Mum says it's one of the best she's ever eaten lunch!

Greeted by a lovely dog! We stopped for drinks on our first afternoon of wandering around locally. Very friendly quirky little café/restaurant. Pleasant service.

I loved this little cafe. We went here for lunch and we had the Vegan buffet. It was great to try some local foods which were suitable for vegetarians. The buffet consisted of various salads as well as a vegan goulash and potato dumplings. It is help yourself so you can determine your own portion sizes and they offer a... More

I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this restaurant. The vegan buffet was truly excellent and this comes from a meat eater! Not a touristy spot at all which is nice after a day of sightseeing.

The most delicious vegan food I have had. Glad I found it but surely did not expect to find a pure vegan place in Vienna!

Was listed on my 'young person's map' given to me by my hostel as an excellent vegetarian cafe and they weren't wrong. Food was amazing both times I ate there. I went once for brunch, where I stuffed myself on their buffet, and once for dinner which was utterly delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good vegetarian or... More

Saturday is the big day for breakfast options in Karmelitermarkt, but if you're looking for a place to eat on Sunday morning, you can't beat Harvest Cafe Bistrot. (Other mornings, too, I expect.) The buffet brunch offers a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options, each with distinct and wonderful flavors. I couldn't have been more pleased.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
