We were walking and wanted to have something to eat. As we were at the end of Mariahilfer Strasse, this seemed interesting place to grab a bite. Food was not fully ok, average in my opinion, and prices were too high for the quality you get. What I really couldn't believe is that when I asked soy milk instead of... More

Find many dish of Viennese cuisine and good beer at a reasonable price. My wife and I had there two beers, a goulash soup and a classical schinitzel and we loved it. This restaurant is not very visible from Mariahilferstrasse, but it's easy to get to.

The food was very good, huge portions and very reasonably priced. The staff was so nice. We went two times on our trip. The tomato soup is amazing as is the spaetzle.

We dropped in here after arriving from the Airport, not much else was open. We only had drinks and three of us were tempted by an ad on the table for a Hot Pimms drink which sounded lovely. We were served quite quickly but I was disappointed the drink was not hot at all, lukewarm at best. Should have called... More

It was raining heavily and we went into this cozy cafe. Nice atmosphere. We were served promptly. We had lovely pancakes stuffed with ice cream and decorated with cream. Coffee was good too.

A wonderful place for a afternoon beer and dinner. I had the Ribs and Wings with no complaints. Excellent food and good service.

Had dinner here - trying the Schnitzel and it didn't disappoint. The accompanying potato salad was a highlight! The waitress who served us was friendly and helpful. The array of desserts was tempting - the strudel is recommended as is the pancake dessert. Be aware though that attempting the schnitzel and pancake dessert is certainly filling! The restaurant is just... More

We came here quite late for dinner service and they were still open to serve food. The lady sat us to our table quite quickly and we later transferred to a non smoking area. Our orders were taken and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. I ordered the schnitzel and it was crunchy and delish. We... More

The waiter/waitress matters! Let's not forget. I always catch the moods of people surrounding me or at least I am sensitive to it. That's why at least for me that's so significant. Her energy fills the room. I wish I had the vocabulary to express the whole beauty of the ways she moves, talks and smiles. Everything else was also... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins.
