Enjoyed a lovely breakfast (a la carte) in a window seat. Charming service and surrounds, great spot to start the day and people watch!

Well done folks - we kept going back to this place....Sacher is over-rated - this is a real gem...not filled with tourists who do not know the quality...this is awesome...we tried pretty much every item over 3 lunches...excellent!!!

The imperial torte was not nice as the Sacher torte but the ambience and service make up for it. It's within walking distance from hotel sacher. Try the other food in the menu and choose a window seat, nice place to people watch.

We stayed at Hotel Imperial and enjoyed the breakfast buffet twice during our visit. It is not cheap, but it was a lovely experience if you enjoy European breakfasts. Service was fantastic. We took advantage of the serve yourself atmosphere and helped ourselves to a couple of flutes of Champagne each morning. In case you didn't know - Champagne before... More

Service was amazing - the waiter was very polite, court, and attentive. Live piano music could be heard from a nearby showroom. Apfelstrudel was quite decent though not amazing.

Legend has it that this cake was made for Emperor Franz Josef. And only in this café you can taste a real Imperial Torte and buy it with you. Although, in my opinion, here, a lot of other delicious pastries.

Went for light dinner. Had salads and soup and of course dessert and coffee. 50€ including tip. Small room across restaurant too. I am told most prestigious hotel in town, but did hot in lobby, Japanese, french and American couples on a late Monday nite.

It may be expensive but the ambience is lovely and the service impeccable. Like a previous reviewer, I was dressed casually in jeans and shirt but treated with the utmost respect. The cakes and coffee were top notch. A pleasant respite from the tourist track.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
