First want to thank my wife for choosing this place for our 10th anniversary dinner. The whole evening was wonderful. We did the Chefs Tasting with the wine pairing and enjoyed everything we had..... we spent nearly 3 hours there, never felt rushed, staff was fantastic and made our special night even better. We will definitely return if we're ever... More

Veal goulash seemed like the perfect late Friday night dinner to start a mid-winter Imperial weekend in Vienna and the Café Imperial delivered. The main dining room of the Imperial Hotel carries over the 19th century ambiance of the lobby while still being welcoming to travelers just in from the airport. We paired our goulash with a crème of pumpkin... More

We enjoyed all meals here. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had most amazing Wiener Schnitzel and the best I have ever tried - veal goulash. Of course you must try some cakes - beautifully decorated and very tasty too.

Came here after seeing Rick Stein feature the cafe on his 'Long Weekend' episode of Vienna and particularly, the Wiener Schnitzel, which was reputed to be the best in all of Austria. Let me start with raving on about how great the service is and how friendly the staff are; absolutely 5 star. When the meal arrived it was seriously... More

We were staying at the Hotel Imperial and decided to try the a la carte menu on our second day. The staff are very friendly and the other patrons seemed to be locals (always a good sign). Really great coffee and quality food. Definitely check it out to experience an absolutely beautiful cafe in Vienna.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
