Came for Sacher Torte but was stale and not moist, how it should be. Staff was kind enough and did their best, poor quality dessert, would not recommend. Bottom of the glass was broken and they changed it straight away.

We stopped by for a quick bite and a coffee at this landmark cafe of Vienna. It is walking distance to the Schonbrunn Palace. It has all sorts of Viennese cafe offerings and great cafe. There is outdoor seating at the front and a nice...garden seating at the back. The service is friendly and quick.More
Today I had a dessert at Kurkonditorei Oberlaa Dommayer. They gave German menu while spoke English with us. The waiter was a bit irritated. I liked the cake, the hot chocolate and the water I got, without the unpleasant experiences with the waiter I would...have given full points. When we finished I paid and the waiter asked if he can add 10 percent. At the previous three places I were on this trip I offered each time they can add the 10% to the sum and I decided to okay it as everything we got was fine, I just had problems with the waiter. Still, find the question very impolite. The waiter's last misstep was when the card reader asked if I want my card to be billed on the fixed sum in my currency or in Euros (with the exchange rate of the day after tomorrow) he chose Euros. It is not his decision to make, the caffe gets the same sum, it is a question if I want to know my exact costs now or in few days.More
I suspect little has changed here since the 19th century apart from higher prices and smart Loos - with Dyson Airblades. But tradition is sometimes the right course. Good, old fashioned, values and Waiters in full Black Tie regalia. Great food, Viennese Coffee and good...service. Hard to beat. We stayed at ParkHotel (see separate review) but took breakfast at 4 different cafes in Hietzing. All good. We will return. Hayling SeagoonMore
Great place, favourite among the locals. Good choice for breakfast, dinner, lunch or just something in-between. Service is impeccable. Newspapers are around for you to read. And in the summer, you can appreciate a cool table in the garden...
The opening hours on TripAdvisor are nor correct look at the official Homepage for the correct ones! The Cafe Dommayer opens At 07:30 a.m. and NOT at 07:00 please correct that
Loved the service, the ambiance, the cappuccino, the strudel! Vaccination card checked at the door before entering (as all restaurants and cafes are here right now)
Neither the size nor location of this Kaffeehaus should deceive the visitor: this is an excellent place to have a coffee or eat a sweet or even a meal. The cakes are world class, the service very good and the location strategic. Highly recommended and...I hope to visit again when in Vienna.More
We were a family of five enjoying a breakfast before a visit at Schonnbrun Palace. The food was excellent and portions big enough to make everybody happy in our group. The service was fast. They have a section where you can get additional pastries to...take away and we liked it so much we came next day for additional pastries .More
What a perfect spot for r&r after a winter walk around Schonbrunn Gardens. A traditional, classic, Viennese, coffee house. Proper traditional, waiters, dressed in black. Fine range of cakes and pastries. Lovely soups and snacks and heavier meals. Worth a visit. Hayling Seagoon A fine...rangeMore
Had a lovely melange and esterhazy schnitte. wonderful outdoor terrace to sit, relax and let the world go by.
I went there 3 times. Lady that was serving was nice and polite. So I went again. Third time I went there was a guy and he was so rude. He doesn't know to say Ms. Or Madam or Sir. Or thanks please come again.He...was so rude and I felt that I just wanna move from there. I felt uncomfortableI didn't want to tip him because of rudeness.I don't know if he had a bad day but this is not the reason to be his victim. He is behaving like he is the Emperor of Austria. Even Emperor will not behave like this. You should train your staff to respect guests. In general I have noticed that waiters are rude in Vienna. Only in Naschmart they were polite. Its a big market with a lot of restaurants.More
Authentic Austrian tasty food, good portions and wide selection of cakes and Austrian delights. Would recommend a visit and you will not be disappointed. Staff helpful and spoke fluent English.
We came as a group of friends, and there was only 1 waiter at the terrace. Even though the terrace was almost empty, it took the waiter a long time to reach our table. The waiter seemed quite annoyed, and was even a bit rude....The food came relatively fast and was ok, but not the quality we expected. When we wanted to pay the bill, the waiter wasn’t to be seen anywhere, and after looking for him, we found him we saw him talking with some people. After waiting 30 minutes for asking the bill we decided to go to the waiter himself, and he said he was on his way. 10 minutes later, we had to ask again. In the end it took him a while to get our bill, but luckily it wasn’t too difficult to spilt the bill. Overall we were pretty annoyed that we spent 40 unnecessary minutes waiting for the bill.More
Food was good but translation of menu was off a little and waiter took a long time to get us the bill.
