A really amazing looking sky bar. We had only some drinks at the bar, actually at one of the small and comfortable tables around the bar, no reservation needed. Great view during night, excellent service.

Lunch at Das Loft is great. Excellent food and great selection of local wines. Services is as expected. The main attraction however is the stunning view over Vienna. Also a great place for a sun downer...

We had a menu for about 90 eur. Dishes so small that you were as hungry as when you arrived after the main course. And it wasn't even very tasty. The sommelier was also pretty grumpy when we sent back a corked wine. He admitted it was corked, without a sign of a smile or an apology. Fantastic view though,... More

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We saw the amazing location of the place on top of the Sofitel from the street level and really wanted to try it out. I booked a table online. They seem to have limited seating every half hour in order to reduce the crowd (and I suppose to make it easier on... More

Where to start? Before we'd even eaten we'd had a bad experience. We booked online but when we arrived our booking wasn't there. The lady on front of house was also on cloakroom duty. Clearly the expensive prices don't go to staff hiring. She was rushed off her feet and then forgot about us. It was embarrassing standing there with... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
