My partner and I visited Vienna in early December to see the Christmas markets. Before travelling I had seen an article in a paper listing Cafe Central as one of the top ten places in the world to go for coffee, it did not disappoint - the coffee was so good! I am coeliac and I was very pleased with... More

This is probably the best Cafe in Vienna. Sometimes there is a queque outside to wait for a free place. Normally i dont like to wait but it it really worth the time for waiting. The inside is beautiful and the service is perfect friendly and fast. we tried two cakes which were amazing but the Kaiserschmarren on the table... More

I have read a lot of website's bad review before I went, but though it should not be that bad, today I truly received the waiter's BAD attitude.

On a cold snowy day, we were surprised that there was no queue as we have read by other reviewers, so we were seated quickly. The service was impeccable throughout, professional and slick. We ordered lunch dishes which were all superb, breaded chicken, calfs liver which was amazing, and pork belly. We decided to have some of the tempting cakes... More

On a chily day we want warm ourself with a warm hot chocolate and some cake. Chocolate was not so dark as we would like to have, however, chokolate cake was perfect. Please be noticed, they didn't accept credit card.

It's a perfect place and a very good food, but, it's expensive and I simply wanted to see more food inside those meals, to those that like to eat, it's not enough for you...

We queued for about 20 minutes to get in and then waited a while to be served, however we were in no rush and the waiter was very professional and the food very nice. But hot chocolate in a cheap milkshake glass? Lovely interior and not too expensive.

This cafe offers the perfect viennese afternoon combination, with an incredible atmosphere, monumental architecture and great Weiner Melange! However, depending on the time of day, you might have to wait a bit before being seated, as it is usually quite crowded. Anyway, it's a definite must for your stay in Vienna!

Located in central part of Wien, this cafe deserves the points. You can find different traditional desserts in the this patisserie. I have ordered an apfelstrudel with vanillia sauce and a cup of melange. Really enjoyed and liked it! It was delicious and fresh. In the evenings, also live classical music is played in this building and you can feel... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
