The two of us went in for a late dinner. When we arrived we were seated at a table for 4, then after we ordered a party of 3 came in, and we were politely requested to switch to a smaller table. We did (no trouble at all), and waitress Jessica gave us complimentary Prosecco for our efforts! The dinner... More

My wife and I visited this fantastic pizza restaurant. I ate ''diavola'' and my wife ''quattro formaggi''so we were able to share to try both. Diavola was spicy, exactly the way I like.Quattro is a story in itself. Wine such as Prosecco is great choice.

We were looking on the Tripadvisor for a good Italian restaurant, close to the place that we were staying, and we found Pizzeria Osteria da Giovanni which has very good reviews. Full of good hope we went to the restaurant around 7pm. Its not the pick time so we were hoping for a nice meal. The unpleasant experience started with... More

That was a wonderful evening spent in Pizzeria Osteria da Giovanni. Service and food was super. A cosy little restaurant which made us feel as if we were in Italy with the delicious food, simple decoration and music.

I try visiting this restaurant as often as i can, the pizza is exquisite. The environment is quite small also very cozy, usually full in the evening so i would suggest making a reservation. There are just 2-3 people in the staff, all very friendly. Service is fast and careful. Oh, its also quite cheap considering the quality of the... More

I didn't expect much when we walked in as there weren't many people and the decor is a bit sad. I was very pleasantly surprised as everything was delicious and priced very reasonably. We enjoyed the antipasti platter, tuna carpaccio and pizza. I would definitely return.

It is considered one of the best Italian spots in Vienna and I mostly agree, you won't be disappointed by the food.. I was a bit upset by a sloppy and slow service (in Vienna a "relaxed" service is quite common, though) and by the summer garden on the back of the restaurant that resemble a garage and has a... The service was good , the food was excellent in preparation and quantity. If you are tired of eating Austrian food , or love Italian food like me , come to this little family restaurant.

This delightful restaurant is set in an attractive and picturesque neighbourhood of Vienna in the Museums Quarter. It is easy going, unpretentious, warm and friendly, the decor easy on the eye. Listed in the DK Eye Witness travel guide, we tried it on our first night in Vienna and returned every night for the rest of our stay. Giovanni is... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins.
