This is a grocery store, not a restaurant, although they do have a small prepared food counter to take-out. Nothing peculiar about this store really… We live close to Montreal, and you can find one a dozen stores like this one, but better. True, the cheese department was great. Compared to any regular store in France, this one really has... More

This is the place to visit if in Vienna, this place is a gourmet grocery store in the historical old building with squeaking steps that lead to the second floor, where amazing choice of cheese and ready foods awaits. On the first floor there is a huge selection of chocolates, and great thing is that each label has the country... More

This store is a Vienna institution, with one of the largest chocolate selections I've ever seen. Attention is paid to a full range of high-quality goods from across Europe. the cheese counter is quite amazing and full of items...the kind saleslady pointed me to a unique camembert and had five types of Tomme-style cheese (which she unhesitatingly showed me). The... More

This, to my knowledge, is the only remaining Julias Meinl after the chain was bought out some years ago. The shop is now a gourmand's heaven with a wine bar downstairs. This is a bit of a hidden gem and well worth seeking out. The room is lined with with an array of wines which you are able to purchase... More

Along the week we stayed in Vienna we found this incredible place. If you put your feet there and you are a kind of person that loves grocery stuff, don't be surprised if you spend a day inside. You'll find thousands of different cheeses, jams, hams, sausages, prosciutto, breads and much more. A three level store very organized waiting for... More

This shop is easily found in the pedestrian zone and contains the largest assortment of gourmet food items we've ever seen under one roof. In addition to the multi-story grocery, wine and gift section, there is a restaurant and several departments where takeout food can be purchased. We spent a leisurely Sunday morning collecting wonderful items to take home as... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
