As confirmed by other reviews, the place itself is quite charming with quite a Viennese feeling to it. However, the service was so ghastly that it put me off eating anything. I have never experienced such a rude service anywhere. Not recommended at all given...More

The Viennese coffee house, including Café Schwarzenburg, were always places to relax and meet friends. It is 8 years since we were last in Vienna, but the charm has gone. Building is the same, but clientele has changed and it has become a Tourist Coffee...More

Went in after 20:00 for coffee and cake. Very relaxed atmosphere. Accomplished pianist and violinist played typical cafe music. Met expectations and recommend.

We visited the cafe with my partner while in Vienna. Decided to stop by for some coffee and cake. We were very impressed with the place itself - big, grand interior, live music... since it is a very popular place, we struggled to find a...More

The place is very nice, a typical viennese café full of charm. The problem are the waiters: ignorants and roughs. The fact that they do not feel happy and fulfilled should not affect the level of the service. Worst experience since ages! Never again!

Typical turn of 19th century building in central position. The waiters are real characters and fun. The food is typical Austrian and not expensive.

Very nice and old fashioned cafe in the center of vienna. I had a Kaiserschmarren and it was really good. They have a nice menu and the cakes look delicious. Well located and good atmosphere.

Its a beautiful cafe set in an intersection. They have patio seatings as well as a large indoor seating. Historic place, as it seems most of Vienna is, good food and very nice service

Extremely impolite, could not answer a simple request such as " what cake you reccomend?" Answering with "they are all good". Did not let us sit in another area saying it was all reserved - while it was empty and free. Lastly opened the door...More

It is sober looking serious place. Per se not child friendly. However, we saw children and prams when we were there. I would think it can be done.
