Although the appearance is not very slick, the taste is excellent. We where very friendly helped by the waitresses and had a great time. I ordered warm rice wine, and usually you get it. This time they showed us they had a great deal of different types of wines, in fact telling me they really care about the food and... More

After reading the reviews written by others, we expected a lot more than the disappointing dinner we ate. When we entered the restaurant, there was a very strong smell of oil and smoke from the kitchen. So strong was the smell, that we couldn't taste the food that we were eating. Portions were small and overpriced.

My friend and I are both incredibly fond of Japanese food and we wanted to see a Viennese take on the cuisine while we were staying in Vienna for five days. We ended up going twice to this fantastic restaurant after discovering it online. The sushi is simply wonderful, fresh and beautifully prepared - it's an authentic pleasure that is... More

We came with a lot of expectations to Hidori, based on the rating here in TripAdvisor. We chose the chef's special menu (~4 courses) with an Umeshu to drink. The plates we received were various and good. It let us experience typical dishes of the restaurant. Out of the dishes we have tried, our favorites were the butter fish and... More

Nice to find good quality Japanese food in this location. The staff were friendly and the food was fine. It was certainly worth stopping by.

Me and my friend went to Vienna for some sushi. I did some research on the Internet. And Hidory was quite good so we went there. The sushi and drinks where really good. But the next day I was so sick that I was hugging the toilet for the whole day. I hope it was only one time. If I... More

Complete Japanese menu, it has one of the best Sushi in Vienna. If you are not a Sushi fan you ahve delicious options to chose from. One of my favorite things from this place is that kitchen closes at 11 pm... which is late in Vienna, and great for my Spanish tendencies!

Was happily surprised at the quality of sushi here, in Vienna. I'm Japanese and have eaten excellent sushi in Japan and having lived in Vancouver, BC I've had a lot of great sushi there as well. While not as good as those 2 place, Hidori still provided an authentic Japanese dining experience. The servers spoke Japanese and I think the... More

Comfortable and low key furnishings, very good food, nice, attentive staff who actually speak japanese (unlike the many japanese places run by Chinese;-)). Draft Asahi beer. Good sake selection, just take care it doesn't bankrupt you. A few typos in the menu should be fixed. What they don't have is tempura or teppanyaki, but the yakitori and sushi and ramen... More
