A nice traditional informal restaurant. However my main course was rather dry and ordinary. The food is simple and unadventurous.

Friendly owner made us feel at home. Great food and drink at reasonable prices. Service was speedy. Cosy surroundings. Seems like a place the locals favour. Less touristy. Tucked away but easy to reach. Enjoy it.

Old University Quarter
North of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna suddenly
turns small, winding and medieval, opening up to
legendary places such as the Basilisk sculpture at
Schönlaterngasse, as well as glamorous baroque
façades, courtyards and churches. Take 45 minutes for
a casual stroll through Bäckerstrasse,
Sonnenfelsgasse, Köllnerhofgasse, Grashofgasse, and
Schönlaterngasse. This quarter is packed with stories

Family run business since 1926 (in fourth generation). Typical viennese kitchen in traditional interior, inviting garden in summertime. Walking distance to all main sights. Near to all major underground lines.
