We did have early dinner here, seated outside in a nice and quiet patio. Food was rather average, although portions were big. Prices were reasonable.

We had a classic ceramic heater in ours, but that may be standard. I started the trip with having turkey schnitzel. It included a small side of cranberries. We ended with cappuccino and Sacher torte. You must have Sacher torte when in Austria. I was...More

Nice new place in the very centre of Salzburg, but nothing special. Not bad - no especially good, it's ok. Some waiters are extremely nice, others unfortunately not... Anyway, it's worth a visit.

A cozy place with tasty local cuisine. This restaurant is pretty spacious, but still cozy, the service is very professional and friendly. The cuisine is very good and the menu offers unique opportunity to try the most typical local dishes in a modern form. Worth...More

Service was worse than the reviews tha complain about service. Food was OK, but not good enough to make up for waiting 30 minutes for a beer. Save yourself ans find somewhere else for dinner or drinks.

Description
The "Sternbrau" is located right in the middle of the Old City of Salzburg, next to the world-famous Getreidegasse and Mozart's birthplace. Since 1542, the "Sternbrau" step by step has become the biggest and most popular traditional beer inn of Salzburg. Since October of 2014, the whole restaurant complex is fully renovated and now offers an outstanding variety of eleven halls and parlours with a unique mixture of tradition and modernity. We serve typical Austrian cuisine with a modern twist, our home-brewed unfiltered beer and our own Austrian red and white wine.
