We were on a mission to eat the best rabbit stew on our trip to Malta since it is the national dish. La Pira is hands down the best place we had rabbit in Valletta/Malta during our trip. We ate the rabbit stew pretty much every day at various places, and nothing could beat this rabbit. The octopus stew might... More

We had dinner here on our first night in Valletta and liked it enough to return at the end of our stay. The rabbit was absolutely delicious! The owner stopped by and talked to us for a minute, very friendly and nice. This is right in the middle of one of the pedestrianised streets so it's good for people-watching, too.... More

We had a very good meal in this tiny restaurant. As it was very cold inside, they were serving at just the three tables inside. They were out of rabbit, so I had octopus stew. It was tomatoey and delicious. Very soft and well cooked. Service and the quality of food were good.

Im super obsessed about octopus in terms of food, and La Pira surely gets my 10/10! With regards of Rabbit, i honestly am not fond of it in general but i took a small bite size taste from my friend's dish and it was close to divine. Service was really prompt, the waitress was more than professional. The price for... More

There are a lot of restaurants along Merchants Street in Valletta. Fortunately, we chose La Pira for lunch. Started by sharing a bowl of the fish soup. Wow! Big chunks of fish, a couple of mussels and lots of flavor. Give me a double portion and I would have an amazing lunch. But that was a starter and we did... More

Absolutely delicious! We had Rabbit for dinner, a couple of glasses of house wine (with free olives to enjoy wine with) Nice cosy little place, very good atmosphere, and the stuff is very friendly. Highly recommended!

We had Octopus and the seasonal fish and both were delicious. It's a very cozy place as we sat inside and the staff is very attentive and nice. Completely recommend!

We fetched up here mid-evening during Valletta's Notte Bianca in October and got a table straight away in the middle of the pedestrianised street. Limited menu on such a busy night so we all had rabbit - great quality, nice friendly service, fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant could have skimped on a night like this but the food was excellent and... More

I have to say I walked by this place twice within 3 days of being in valletta. It was trip advisor that steered me there. The staff were fantastic Paul and (I'm sorry I don't ask for the young ladies name) were great. I tried the local dishes and not only was I surprised, it was very delicious and the... More

We came across La Pira in Merchants Street after passing several other restaurants. We very much enjoyed the Rabbit which was tender and in a tasty sauce. The one problem that older customers might have, is the steep stone spiral staircase that leads to the toilets - not for the feint hearted! If you can manage that the restaurant is... More
