We just happened to walk past this lovely place and were intrigued to give it a try. Wow! We had Marrakesh Lamb and Beirut Chicken, both of which were beautifully spiced & tender. The ambiance and decor inside is warm with a great eastern feel....More

Highly recommended if you like Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Friendly service and great food. The place is not big so I suggest you book in advance. Great place to be ..

The food was fantastic and the waiters were observant and polite. I can highly recommend it! You should make dinner reservations though, since it is very popular.

Small place so you have to book.interesting menu with India, Arabian and Mediterranean choices. The beef vindaloo is worth special mention. Banoffee pie not available (again) but after we complained they found one portion - made with aerosol cream unfortunately.

Food is great, I’ve been here a couple of times and considered as one of my favorites in Malta until our last visit. We dropped by after a walk in Valletta with my wife, parents and our baby. Was very surprised this place does not...More

We had a very pleasant and satisfying meal at 'La Mere' - great Indian food and good wine. The price was reasonable and we were made o feel very welcome.

Super nice place - really cozy place a bit off the main streets with only a few tables and really friendly staff. We shared four starters between two, all of which were super delicious. We loved the hummus and the sweet mango sauce that came...More

My wife and I had chicken tikka masala and it was excellent (spicy but not hot) with rice and naan bread. Our friends had a medium hot lamb dish and they also liked it. We tried some Lebanese red wine and it was very good....More

There weren't any children when we were there, perhaps because it was a weekday.

La Mère is tucked away past the old 'Suq Tal' Belt'. Rustic wooden tables blend with Middle Eastern décor, matching the unique theme of two great cuisines - Indian and Middle Eastern. A small, intimate dining area, and flickering candles, give a warm, homely feel. However, the tables are spaced enough that you do not feel cramped. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable on the wide choice available in the menu. Here, our desire is to present a repertoire of authentic dishes, bursting with flavour, certainly a multi-sensory experience. The menu offers a broad selection of starters, allowing you to whet your palate with a Lebanese spiced lamb sausage, or enjoy mussels and chorizo in coconut milk. Mains are similarly varied, giving you a choice of curries, or perhaps king prawns or lamb chops cooked in the tandoor. Our new menu also presents a selection of main dishes with a fusion twist, such a marinated filet of fish wrapped in banana leaf. There is also a good choice of vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten free options. Besides we have introduced a menu degustation, an extensive wine list, cocktails and whiskeys and a broad selection of homemade desserts such as chocolate filled samosas with mango and coconut, assorted baklava, pistachio and ricotta briouats with halva ice-cream.
