Selected this restaurant as it looked cleaner than others nearby. The staff were very attentive and the food was reasonably priced and delicious.

Can't rate food as we didn't eat. We stood for 10 minutes at bar waiting to be acknowledged 2 staff members looked at us and ignored us repeatedly.

Fresh, genuine, no-frills food cooked and served by a family who are obviously proud of their work - and indeed they have plenty to be proud of. This is one of those places which are so laid back, where you can enjoy the sun, eat good food and even have a short chat with the owner/chef. He has some time... More

Initially stopped for a cup of tea, which only cost E0.80 each....had a quick look at the menu and decided to stop for food....what a great decision. I had squid and that's what I got....one whole squid fried to perfection. I would seriously recommend this restaurant and the prices are good. Easily the best meal I have had in Malta... More

The restaurant offers an amazing view on the fishing bay and a terrace which is facing the sun all the afternoon. The fish is from the daily fish and it's cooked in a traditional Maltese style.

the place might scare you off. but do not shy away, just slip inside and ask the owner to serve you with octopus spaghetti or lamb stew. go for the local beer and a kinnie with some orange dices in it. then go for a walk up to tas silg and back for the coffee and fresh bakes.

The Rising Sun is a mandatory stop when we are in Malta. This time we had baked rice, spaghetti with octopus, squid and octopus cooked in garlic. All were excellent and extremely cheap! This is the place to visit to taste real Maltese food in a very unique environment.

Small bar/restaurant with tables on the street outside. It was a warm and sunny afternoon so we were able to sit and enjoy our meal outside. Service was prompt and friendly, we soon had cold drinks and the menu. Fresh bread with tomatoe paste, local soft cheese, olives and sundried tomatoe were provided free as a small taster. Whilst the... More

Great place to eat ; not an extensive menu but what is on offer is always fresh and very good , especially the fish. You can sit outside and enjoy the fishing village atmosphere or the quaint inside and have a friendly talk with the family who owns the place. Don't expect any frills although this adds to the charm... More

A quirky old-school bar in the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, that serves up surprisingly good food! The owner is also the chef and really knows his way around the kitchen. He actually comes from a family of fisherman.
