When I was looking from the outside, I wasn't too sure. Stepping inside was a completely different vibe. Smiling faces and a busy crowd told me what I needed to know. I hade the lamb sandwich which was delicious!! Highly recommend you give it a try!! Staff were very accommodating. Would eat there again if I was staying another night.

We ate here two of the three nights we were in Vik. The trout and cod were really good. Both nights they didn't have the lamb sandwich, which was disappointing. The service was friendly and when my daughter dropped her hamburger on the floor she was given a new one and some juice at no extra charge which was very... More

We enjoyed our meals at this restaurant, good ambience, friendly staff, good service. The lamb fillet was very tender, pizza was fine and skyr cake shared was delicious.

Had dinner here while staying in Vik. Our first choice was Sudur Vik but the wait for a table was too long to then be overcharged for a meal. The prices at Halldorskaffi are fair by Iceland standards. I had the pasta with prawns. I was expecting the prawns to be mixed in with the pasta but they came on... More

We started with a caprese salad which was just ok... We split a "Bryde's Pizza" and it was very good. The desserts looked good but we were to full to try them.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner as it was one of the few places open on Good Friday and it was packed to the gills!! The one room restaurant is cheerful and warm but due to the wait we just ordered take away. We ordered the lamb sandwich which was more of a lamb burger on sliced bread... More

We were overnighting in Vik on our way back west and felt the Icelandair hotel restaurant seemed a bit expensive, so we decided to try Halldorskaffi for dinner as there doesn't appear to be many options in Vik. We went quite early, around 7/7.30, and boy were we glad we did. There is only one room with tables and they... More

The restaurant number one in this town was full so we decided to test the number three. And it was really good. Lots of people too but easier due to the turn over. Special burgers was very tasty and the potatoes home made really good. I discovered the Skyr cake home made and it was fabulous. If you want a... More

This place was packed full of people and they did their best to fit everyone in. The pizza was tasty and service was good. Felt local and the vibe was good.

We found that the grocery store closed by 6pm, so we stumbled upon this place ready to eat anything. My partner and I shared the mushroom soup and the "margherita " pizza -- like all things in Iceland it ran us a pretty penny. Let me preface by saying, margarita pizza in Iceland just means cheese pizza, plain pizza --... More
