Good choice if tapas, portions we found were quite large for some of the tapas. I would say there is something for everyone here. From the traditional Spanish tapas like patatas bravas to more Icelandic such as smoked puffin ( tastes similar to duck). Really...More

Highly recommend. Staff were really helpful, couldn't do enough for us. The food was well cooked and beautifully presented. Nothing was to much trouble and the atmosphere was great.

We saved the best till last on our trip to Reykjavik! Although the food everywhere has been delicious and we've tried lots of local fish and flavours, this place gave us a fantastic opportunity to try some things that we would never normally try! Ok,...More

After deliberating over a number of nearby restaurants in downtown Reykjavik we chose this Tapas bar after seeing its exciting menu outside for around £43 each. Boasting a seven course tapas journey of traditional Icelandic cuisine. We didn't book and the restaurant was very busy....More

This was a 5 star visit. Wow the food was so tasty. Go for the Traveller! The service was excellent and much better than in most restaurants in Reykjavik, especially Asthildur! The Traveller is a combination of 6 dishes and a desert. All 4 of...More

We had minke whale, ahi, kangaroo, and a lovely beet salad. All were beautiful to look at and incredible to eat. We added a beer with the meal. Afterwards, we had an amazing coconut ice cream desert with sorbet, chocolate, whipped cream and more. Best...More

Description
TapasBarinn is an extremely lively restaurant where Spanish tapas tradition meets the freshest Icelandic ingredients. It is located in a cellar at Vesturgata 3 in Reykjavik's central. The menu at TapasBarinn offers over 50 different meat, fish and vegetable dishes so you can take your time and experiment various flavour combinations. A must try is the Icelandic gourmet feast which is a great way to taste the best of Icelandic produce in one meal.

The restaurant has been open since the year 2000 and has become a local favourite. It has the only kitchen in Reykjavík that is open 23:30 on weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The breezy atmosphere and the Spanish effects in the decorations make TapasBarinn ideal for an enjoyable evening, a true ray of sunshine in downtown Reykjavík.
