Arrived at KEF at 7a and couldn't check in to our hotel until 3p. Decided to take the FlyBus from KEF to BSI (the bus station) and look for breakfast. Forty-five minutes later, we stashed our luggage in the rental lockers at BSI (for approx $12) and took a cab to the Grei Kattan (Gray Cat). I think it would... More

Heard about it, trying it out. Cozy place! Serving is huge yay enough for both of us. Closes at 2pm, almost no one when we arrive at 1:45pm on a Wednesday

Nice little cafe, very friendly service at a reasonable price. Cuban sandwich is lovely, as is the bacon and eggs

What a find. A lovely little locally run café. We popped in for breakfast on Sunday and it was surprisingly quiet. It really should have been busier as the food was lovely. We both had American Style Pancakes with bacon and syrup and we got a real big plateful. Massive pancakes, some streaky bacon and a whole jug of syrup... More

I loved coming here first thing Sunday morning as most other places are closed that early and it gave me more time to explore the city. It wasn't busy first thing, but I could tell they probably get quite busy for such a small cafe, because some groups were turned away when it filled quickly. The food was delicious and... More

My wife & I visit Grai Kotturinn (the Gray Cat) every time we're in Reykjavik. It's such a cozy cafe filled with books and delicious breakfast food. It's small and intimate, yet this last visit was the first time we've ever had to wait for a table. We both had the American pancakes and loved them. Highly recommend for anyone... More

This is a quaint little Icelandic cafe in Reykjavik. It's the perfect spot to warm up with a great cuppa coffee and a filling. breakfast.

Came here with my girlfriend. The young lady who served us recommended we have one big portion of pancakes between us instead of two small portions so it would be cheaper. This was a great recommendation! And so kind! They were lovely and filling. The place was cute and very aesthetically pleasing! Would go again!

Are you a tourist here looking for early morning breakfast? Well, this place is for you because (at least in wintertime) Icelanders don't really eat breakfast out (especially if daylight doesn't happen until 10:00AM-ish). That said, you can tell this place caters to Americans with their hefty breakfast portions of bacon, eggs, toast, etc. So, it's not really an "Icelandic"... More

Cool location and relaxed atmosphere. Their American pancakes were better than any pancakes we've had in America. Highly recommend, but expect to spend quite a bit of money on breakfast.

Thank Abigail H
